  1. It's funny because no one is more cynical than me. I am a misanthrope, too, sort of. But I love Pinker and totally accept his thesis while it seems everyone else thinks he went off the deep end of optimism.

  2. Is Professor Pinker saying that some in the media are not very helpful to society and can actually cause harm ? What is considered poverty in 2019 is a world apart from poverty in 1960 though a great many important voices who have stature will never acknowledge that . Professor Gates needs to chase down his democrat advocates throughout history who championed eugenics and other flawed theories or is he suggesting that black people have to reject science totally because these theories were based in supposed science ? As far as the last question , we’re witnessing the correction take place ,people aren’t watching and are turning to alternatives on line, thank goodness for you tube.
