Dr. Terrence Sejnowski is a pioneer in computational neuroscience, working to understand the principles that link brain to behavior. He uses experimental and modeling techniques to study the biophysical properties of synapses and neurons and the population dynamics of large networks of neurons. Dr. Sejnowski has published over 500 scientific papers and 12 books. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine, the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering. He is Distinguished Professor of Biology, University of California, San Diego, and investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Dr. Sejnowski received his Ph.D. from Princeton University and was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School.
