Waking Cosmos is a new series on metaRising exploring the connected mysteries of life, consciousness, and the universe.

The series blends elements of remix video culture and a classic documentary format in exploring the possibility that life and mind are intrinsic to the essential order of reality.

The first episode is called The Self-Excited Circuit. It explores the possible destiny of life in the universe, and a radical interpretation of quantum mechanics that could explain the precise life-permitting conditions of the universe.

  1. this is brilliant!
I've shared it to my group "What do you think?" on facebook which has a grand member count of one!!!! …that's me! lol!!! It must be a record for a group that's about 12 years old! I'd appreciate some more like-minded members and some thoughts and conversations… What do you think? 🙂

  2. "It may just take the right crazy idea"…This crazy foxpup has an idea.

The universe is a BOOK with a master Author and souls liker ourselves being begotten (not created) by the Author to do further authorship within that universe. We introduce form into the universe as the Author does but we are limited in effectiveness and awareness so we never get the last or first word or even all the words in the middle, just a portion of them. Portions of the story also never take form because they don't contribute to the plot and so they remain in perpetual superposition/formlessness. Other portions are given form as part of the story. The universe starts out formless (in Author time, not necessarily t=0 as we would call it.). There was that moment in time when Tolkien had an empty sheet of paper in his typewriter, before anything was written, but the first word might not be the first event in Middle Earth's time line. All defining events in Author-time need to be consistent with previous events in Author-time but the sequence of time in the story doesn't have to match that perfectly, so the cause of something sometimes follows its effect in some situations.

I could go on, but I think that conveys the idea crudely.

  3. It was a combination of these implications of quantum physics along with an examination of the efficacy of Magick (think Aleister Crowley, not David Copperfield) which led me to conclude that "reality" isn't actually real, but a dream. The mind doesn't just passively perceive the universe; it actively shapes it.

The effect isn't as pronounced as when one achieves lucidity in their dreams at night however due to the fact that none of us are the prime perspective. Everyone around you shapes the universe just as much as you do, and they all believe that it behaves in a certain way, so it does. In order to do something "impossible", you must overcome the combined disbelief of all witnesses.

This is why practitioners of Magick always teach newcomers to practice in secret: the only disbelief one must overcome in private is one's own. It's also important to note that it's also taught to begin small, starting by attempting to achieve results that are easy enough for you to believe are possible even without the use of Magick. The more one does this successfully, the less likely it appears to be coincidence, and the easier it is to believe that larger effects are also possible.

Magickal rituals aren't even truly necessary; all that's required is the intent. The ritual simply serves to focus the intent and make achieving the desired outcome easier to believe. There's even an entire discipline (Chaos Magick) which says that the nature of the ritual is immaterial; create your own rituals that feel right to you, perform them with proper intent/belief, and you will get the results you're after.

  4. Eckhart Tolle amongst many others in many years of spiritual curiosity brought me to the following personal belief, which is mirrored in your video and what many scientists seem to be slowly discovering:

The universe or cosmos is the divine or God or whichever description one would prefer. This universe is quite literally its body. And the universe was created by this divine being in order to experience itself in all shapes and forms. Hence, the Big Bang. From an absolute point, where there was no relative comparison, time, space and matter was created. Think how it is, that one cannot appreciate a state of being without experiencing that state's opposite: It's really difficult to be truly happy, if you have no appreciation of what it means to be sad. How can one know what it is to feel warmth, when one has never felt cold. And so on.

Mathematically, an absolute value is a whole number, e.g., 1. That's it. There is no 1.01 or 0.99, you are simply 1. And if you are that state, you have no appreciation of it. You can only appreciate it when you are no longer 1. I believe that is why we have the world of form. A lot of it distracts us from our true selves. But the universe over time always finds to itself. Consciousness blooms. So it is, that we may be blind to the divine within us because we so identify with form rather than our true being that we have forgotten. But when we do find back to our godly self, that is when we speak of enlightenment. And suddenly the world of form is no longer as vital to us, because we have discovered that we are actually a part of the divine Cosmos. How can you beat that!

Anyhow, I just felt like sharing that. Hope many people will get to enjoy this channel.

  5. I still don't get the relationship to matter as consciousness. unless you are referring to all third dimension energy. if so then it makes sense.

  6. I believe we have all had the answers within ourselves since the dawn of time.. it took humanity to stray so far away from true reality to the point that our reality seemed like fantasy,.. only to revert back to primal selves after being lost for so long. Follow the dao.. for it is everything yet nothing.

  7. Consciousness = state of superposition until measured in relation to another entity, if it wasn't Space-Time wouldn't be relevant to the individual states.

  8. Would you get down to earthly simplicity about the functioning of consciousness by filming through the lens of the camera as if it was the eyes of certain conscious being in their simple daily activities … thanks

  9. They say that the universe doesn't exist Until we, humans become aware or conscious of it, But the universe did exist for billions of years before we came .?!? Would you investigate this dilemma

  10. Excellent video. I think it does a good job of highlighting this panpsychist/idealist movement that has been taking place among great intellectuals of our time.
Ultimately, I believe Idealism will triumph over our current paradigm of Physicalism. To see why check out: The Case for Monistic Idealism

What ideas do you think future episodes should explore?
