  1. I just lover all the self-appointed physicists commenting on the double-slit with the "interaction" hypothesis. The truth is, that has never stood up to an experiment. No one really knows why the wave collapses upon measurement, so stop with your copying and pasting of "explanations" from other boards on this subject.

  2. If you want to learn about how science explains consciousness there's a really good Psychology Today article called "what actually is consciousness and how did it evolve"

There's also an incredible theory by John Mallatt and Todd Fienberg explained in their free papers "phenomenal consciousness and emergence; eliminating the explanatory gap" and "the evolutionary and genetic origins of consciousness in the Cambrian Period"

Fundamental consciousness Ideas Don't really have any explanation of an interface through which it could interact with our body. Until then, that idea is not worthy of consideration as a scientific hypothesis

  3. There are questions that have no answer except what the individual chooses to believe. What is the Universe? Why is the Universe? What was before the Universe? What is consciousness? Why did it develop?
These are questions that have no answer. But because everything needs an answer, we make one up.

  4. I've always liked to think the universe is looped in on itself like if we zoomed out far enough our multiverse are just the atoms that make up another universe and it just keeps going like that

  5. I don’t think either of those arguments are really that good, but I guess it could be said that something can’t be proven to exist if nothing is there to witness it

  6. Yeah, no.

The double slit is about interactions
The ibserver effect doesn't actually need an "observer" as in a consciousness, it just needs a measurement. Or in otherwords, and interaction.

And the fine tuning issue is a non starter and is adequately addressed by simply accepting what we do not know and applying the abthropic principles.

This is nothing but pseudo quantum woo

  7. I have a very specific and very pedantic reason for despising this theory. Completely ignoring that this is lunacy which is entirely unfalsifiable like the simulation theory, and therefore, I ignore it by default, I am also a science fiction author and it disgusts me that this theory has pervaded many modern works of science fiction in a way that only pompous pseudo-intellectuals could think to do. It got so popular among science fiction authors that even Halo has adopted a similar backdrop for its Forerunner-Precursor lore, which is when I completely clocked out of Halo for good. If fringe theories like these serve as the basis for a handful of small-scale stories made by people who are legitimately interested in the root philosophical principles introduced by the theory, then fine, but I feel equally as much disdain for theories like this as I do with simulation theory and its meteoric rise in popularity after the success of The Matrix, and the blasé nature they are presented in by people who do not understand the intent.

  8. Reminds me of a study I heard about here on YouTube, haven’t had the time to look it up further tho. It states that both human and animal thought and presence could affect the outcome of a given situation. Let’s say that a human sat with a random number generator and was hoping for a specific number to appear. The odds were higher that that specific number would appear than that another number would appear, meaning that thought and consciousness could affect reality

  9. If it was consciousness, space and time, then everything would just be consciousness. Which in my super duper expert opinion, is the most reasonable theory of errything

  10. If nothing with any observation exists then tgeres no way any quantum state could ever be collapsed. This is an extremely advanced chicken and egg argument.
