Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, says he is 90% certain that AI reaching the level of a country of geniuses in a data center will arrive within 10 years, with his personal hunch placing it at 1 to 2 years. Anthropic has officially forecast AI systems matching or exceeding Nobel Prize winners by late 2026 or early 2027.   6. AI success is not an upward trajectory. It will probably hit the ground hard at least 2 times before stabilizing. Lots of turmoil ahead. The first hit will be usage shrinkage due to token prices. I think maybe profitable after 10 years.

  8. He's had a hunch it'll get there in a year or two ever since he started talking. But for right now he needs to drive his company public so he can suck money out of pension funds to keep his grift running. He'll be looking for a government bailout by Xmas, cos he's not making a profit

    Nice setup. The honest answer is: nobody knows, and depending on how you press the metaphor, the question might not even have an answer that means anything physically.

    Here's the issue. The beach analogy is doing something specific: it's saying "if something we'd call the entire universe is reduced to grain-of-sand scale, surely there's a vastly bigger context it sits inside." That's a very natural intuition, and it's the same intuition behind multiverse theories. Eternal inflation, for instance, suggests our Big Bang was one "bubble" nucleating in an inflating field that goes on essentially forever, popping off other bubble universes constantly, each potentially with different physical constants. On that picture, our whole observable universe really is just one grain on an effectively endless beach.

    But there's a deeper snag: "universe" by definition is supposed to mean everything that exists, so asking what's "beyond" it is a bit like asking what's north of the North Pole. Space and time themselves are part of what the Big Bang produced, on standard cosmology, so there isn't an obvious "outside" for our universe to be sitting in, the way a grain of sand sits in more beach. Other regions in eternal inflation aren't really "outside" our universe in a spatial sense, they're disconnected from us causally, possibly forever unreachable, which makes "what's there" unanswerable even in principle, not just unanswerable today.

    So depending on temperament, you land in one of a few places: a physicist might say "more bubble universes, statistically unknowable, current science"; a strict empiricist might say "the question is meaningless because 'outside the universe' isn't a coherent concept"; a more speculative/philosophical type might gesture at something like Tegmark's mathematical multiverse, or just shrug toward whatever is meant by "everything," recursively.

Elon Sam and Mark won't be the boss of their own companies.

That's a hell of a responsibility, and I'm certain (90%…) that even he can't grasp what it is that he is able to do to the modern world. So much for democracy.

  23. all people need to know is.. most billionnaires/elite have finished building their underground bunker which will hold them for years. some of trumps staff have told their current contractors that are building their bunkers to increase their pace to finish theirs. soo.. keep an eye on who start evading and leaving the public. when they go.. its time
