Have you ever considered the possibility of transferring your consciousness into a computer? Sabine Hossenfelder, a German theoretical physicist, believes that this may one day be possible.

According to Hossenfelder, the fundamental laws of physics as described in the standard model of particle physics can explain everything in the universe, including human consciousness. She suggests that we are simply a collection of elementary particles, but it is the arrangement of these particles that gives us our unique qualities and abilities.

As such, it may be possible to capture and transfer all the information about the arrangement of particles in the body in order to transfer a person’s consciousness into a computer. So, could we one day upload our consciousness and exist within a machine? It’s an intriguing possibility.

  1. The Children’s Catechism
    Q. 19. Have you a soul as well as a body?

    A. Yes; I have a soul that can never die.

    Q. 20. How do you know that you have a soul?

    A. Because the Bible tells me so.

  2. Excluding God in all this narration signify something is wrong. Too typical western so-called scientists. Thumbs down. I'd rather believe in Bilble rather than this vide author and alike.

  3. “And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man BECAME a living soul.” (Gen. 2:7, ASV) Please note that three things are described in this passage: 1) God “formed” (or fashioned) man out of preexisting materials; 2) God breathed into him the “breath” (or spirit)—Heb., nᵉshâmâh—of life; 3) man became a living soul (or being)—Heb., nephesh. It does NOT state that man has a soul, especially an “immortal soul.” Whenever man dies—whether by old age, infirmity or accident—his physical body is unable to retain the breath of life, and so his existence ends. Or, as it says in Psalm 146:4, “His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.” Ecclesiastes 12:7 describes death thusly, “Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit (or breath, Heb., rûwach) will return to God who gave it.” The Holy Bible gives NO support for any type of post mortem immaterial existence, such as a disembodied spirit or “ghost.” If it did, then those “mediums” or necromancers that allegedly summon the spirits of the dead might actually have some basis on which to operate. But God absolutely forbids all such activities, because it isn’t the ghost of dear old departed Uncle Albert, but some lying spirit seeking to deceive gullible people. Maranatha.

  4. "Do humans have souls?"

Well, step one would be to have a clear valid definition for the soul. A valid definition will not contain logical fallacies or unproven assertions.

  5. What's insane though is, we can make and control an AI with limit's having it believe there's nothing more than what we have it see and/or believe. But most will not consider that we're also made with limits while also believing there's nothing more than what we see and/or believe. This kind of thinking, that there's nothing more than what we can see/ believe, only enforces the limits placed on us. I'm just saying, as above, so below. Quantum simulator within a Quantum simulator. Limited beings placing limits on lesser limited beings. The paradox of us thinking we're not limited like we limit our creations (AI) and just simply believing elementary particles are enough for this all to occur, in itself should show there's a process occurring that blinds/ alludes us from being able to know/ see beyond what we're allowed to know/ see. It comes to 3 lines of thought. You either (believe there's nothing beyond the physical), (believe there is something beyond the physical), or (you accept either are likely possibilities and keep an open mind forever.. maybe, never knowing due to our either surpass-able or unsurpassed-able limitations). I'm just saying, going far left or far right doesn't usually get you to the point directly a head of you faster than going straight down the middle.

  6. I wouldn't want to trap my consciousness in a computer. We are much more than our bodies, and that's something ancient Indians had a much better understanding of.

  7. Based on what we currently know emmergence is probably the best stop gap hypothesis for consciousness. However, Roger Penrose is not satisfied with this and explores the possibility of a role for quantum mechanics in the understanding part of consciousness. Classical mechanics of neural firings is apparently an inadequate description of the understanding aspect of consciousness. A quantum connection frees the system from determinism and embraces the probabalistic realm. Just an hypothesis at the moment, but quantum effects have been found in photosynthesis and bird navigation, so we shouldn't rule it out of court just yet. It may be that our consciouness may exist in an all pervasive quantum field to which our brains resonate as server and client respectively.

  8. There are things, that are real, that are NOT made up of particles.
Thoughts and emotions for instance. Very, VERY real. But you can not weigh them, nor hold them in your hands. And YES, they do intertwine with the particles of this universe. Thoughts can physically change your body…you can literally "worry yourself sick".
This study has a long way to go.
