In honor of the beginning of our UK #pmjtour, we brought the incredible Maiya Sykes to help us transform Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back In Anger” into a Bessie Smith – style New Orleans blues. Maiya once again shows why she is one of PMJ’s premier vocalists; like the great blues and soul vocalists of the past, every note she sings is imbued with passion.

  1. I'm sure this has been said, but this is the original and oasis covered it. This song was made for this arrangement and her voice. Just damn.

  2. Probably one of my most favourite artist presented by PMJ i love her! She really really makes this so believable of the era! Did Oasis cover her? We know not! But still, an outstanding version and style. Very believable that the song originated from that/this era.

  3. Slip inside the eye of your mind
Don't you know that you might find
    a better place to play?
You say, that you had never been, but all the things that you have seen are gonna fade away.
So I start a revolution from my bed.
Because you said the brains that I had went to my head
Step outside, it's summer time in bloom.
    Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off your face
Because you ain't gonna ever burn my heart out.

    Ohh ohh ohh no no
So, Sally can wait she knows it's too late as we are walking on by.
    Her soul, it slides away.
But don't look back in anger
    I heard her say

    Yeah
Take me to the place that you go
Where nobody knows that it is night or day.
Please do not put your life in the hands of a rock and roll band
and just let it fade away

Ohh, so I'll start a revolution from my bed.
Beause you said the brains that I had went straight to my head.
Step outside, cause it's summertime in bloom
Stand up by the fireplace, take that look up off your face you ain't never, ever gonna burn my heart out.

    Sooooo
    Sooo, Sally can wait
She knows it's too late as she's walking on by
    My soul it slides away
But don't look back in anger, I heard her say yeah

    Ooohh
    Ahhhh
    Oh oh oh ohh
    So, Sally can wait
She knows that it's too late as we are walking on by
    My soul slides away
But don't look back in anger, no don't look back in anger, don't look back in anger, I heard you saaay
    Don't look back in anger
    I heard you saaay

  4. Randomly found the juke box tonight and have been sending friends messages saying "best cover ever"… Then found this. How I smiled listening to this. The skill, talent.. genius… To take a song from my favourite band of all time, and produce this, masterpiece. Speechless. This has made me so happy.. Thank you!

  5. I feel sorry for anyone named Sally, cuz they will never ever win another argument for the rest of their life, but yeah, amazing song and I love her unique touch to it. Classic!

  6. Fantastic. I suppose I have had an interesting life I've met many a famous person in a past life and had many great conversations with them. When having a good chat with Noel Gallagher I did ask him about this song. We were talking about divorces as we would have gone through a divorce at the same time (Meg Matthews). I asked Him who Sally was. He replied 'something that just came into my head'. I said no more and he gave me four VIP tickets to an Oasis concert in Finsbury Park. Read into it what like.Below is the official statement
"It started off as a song of defiance, about this woman: She's metaphorically seeing the diary of her life pass by, and she's thinking, 'You know what? I have no regrets.' She's raising a glass to it."
But is Sally real or just a figment of Gallagher's imagination? "I wrote it after I came out of a strip club," the rocker told the outlet. Perhaps Sally was the name of a stripper he encountered on that fateful night?
