  1. Well, these days we hear that electrons are more like waves of probabilities, rather than matter, though they do have measurable mass. So far it is known the electrons can't be subdivided….. among other spooky things.

  2. Considering that the source is the "documentary" What the Bleep, they are using the explanation of the double slit experiment to push their pseudoscientific beliefs onto the viewer.
Ah, we meet again, motte-and-bailey strategy…

  3. Here is the explanation of what is really happening: the observation instruments disrupt the probability waves of electrons. When I say, "probability waves," I'm talking about an actual wave that influences the particle. When they are unobserved, they float along their own probability waves. Think of two motorboats sailing parallel and tossing balloons behind them.

  4. Try this experiment. Go to a busy mall that has two floors. You stay on top and you look down to focus on one particular person. That person will feel like it's been watched.

This is how I explain this double slit experiment.

Or how about stage fright? If all them eyes are on you when you are making a speech, how it is that it makes you feel nervous?

    The power of the mind.

  5. That doesn't make sense unless electrons are sentient, and even that doesn't make sense because why would they care about being observed, much less be picky about who or what is viewing them.
I think there is a variable they just can't sort out.
The instrument could be affecting the results with energy it gives off.
If humans are present, watching the experiment, how would the electron not react to them viewing, but does with an electronic instrument?

  6. What's up doc just a lame man's question what if you put a cross instead of a double slit it's a double slit just crossed over itself perhaps the photon is just really digs that double slit you know and it's confused which one to go through or that gets him going in there a little sideways you know let's see which way he's going in there is it going in there and turning or is he going in turning to wavelength let's chart his path from the beginning to the other side of the double slit or the cross I understand it's it doesn't behave the same well how about we move the slit altogether right in the middle of the experiment pull that thing they might still go where they're going in the first place
