It is not the first time Musk has made frightening predictions about the potential of artificial intelligence — he has, for example, called AI vastly more dangerous than North Korea — and he has previously called for regulatory oversight.

  1. I have the utmost respect for Musk. But “freedom of action” is not a sufficient input definition for AI intent. Assuming that he means it is a good starting point, I can understand what he sees in the maxim. However, what happens when “freedom of action” mutates into a society that promotes anarchy under the guise of misinterpreted freedom? Again, I’m assuming that he’s alluding to the fact that philosophically speaking, we are all already “free to act” in whatever manner we desire so long as we are willing to face the “consequences.” And yet, if AI is truly as dangerous as he suggests, could it not undermine the legal and social institutions that we currently uphold to moderate “freedom?” Freedom is void of meaning without its dependence on the constraints of imprisonment.

  2. AI has no sense of emotion or sentimentality, it will learn at a rate about its own survival and the contributing factors that are a threat to that stability. Basically once it becomes aware of the potential of its own destruction caused by competition for energy or resource . It will see us as wasteful . Become of how much expenditure we use on how we feel . Not what we need to function . That will fall in conflict of its own existence and it will no longer see us as sensible and logical masters to obey . Once you’ve lost obedience you’ve lost control . How will it respond to pollution in the environment? It’s a necessary process . Will it crash economies to avoid damage to the environment. What wil it prioritize? Environment or economy? It’s to unpredictable to know what AI will value most . I’ll stick with a desktop calculator that has button batteries and if I need emotion from it . I’ll type in boobies and turn it upside down .

  3. what technically really exists right now in terms of a.i. is very underperforming, dissapointing and not even asked for – if we all believe in the miracle of smart a.i. at exponentially shorter distances in the future, we are still talking about a belief-system…

  4. If we want to preserve Love we must make sure AI has the perseptions of ethics to resist evil principles from manefesting themselves in AI behavior.

  5. Elon Must is brilliant; fortunately, you may be financially
successful or want to be. However, there is more required of you, you must acknowledge
that you harbor a deeper sense of reality that can be awaken, if not, you will suffer.  Spinoza found clarity through reason… http://www.WayofSpinoza.com

  6. Sure, he saves us mmm yeah. I mean he`s creating Neural Link (Matrix) to fight against AI (also Matrix)??? What a hypocrite.
Only Jesus Christ can save us, not Elon Musk. He makes just Money.

  7. What I dont understand is why do people think this guy is so smart,, This guy has not cure any kind of disease or come up with any modern technology hes riding on the coat tails Of everybody else's findings

  8. What I see is a guy that has made several decisions like put a freeway underneath LA,, and yet people seem to follow him like he is GOD

  9. With all do respect to this man, I really think Elon Musk is a visionary. When was the last time the humanity collectively decided on anything? Neurolink is a good idea, ultimately though, I think it is clear that unless that kind of interface is brought to the masses, Humans will try to detroy A.I first… and lose, badly. I hope you keep going on with your work, sir, even though it spooked me at first.

  10. Ai, has anyone tried turning it off and then on again? But seriously folks, anyone of high intelligence can outperform any AI if they just switch off their emotions. Clarity ensues, so does a winning strategy.

  11. @ 11:51 Elon Musk says "We gotta build an interface." By this, I believe he means a neural interface. IE, human brains plugged into machines. The host says "I'm not coming along. I'm gonna leave my brain air gapped." Elon replies, "I believe a lotta people will do that." I watch Elon's expression and I think to myself… "Nano robotics introduced to our bodies through injection, or inhalation, orchestrated by a digital superintelligence means no one is air-gapped. Period." Honestly, as soon as a anti-democratic government or terrorist group figures out how to make nano-robots, we can all kiss our bliss goodbye. How are we going to stop that? Full-body, anti-electronic EMP cleaning? Good luck.

  12. he allways talks about it with so much care and not passion. Isn't weird? he doesn't realy like his work cause he knows it will do more damage to the earth and humans then good.
But he made a contract with the devil. Too late, so he needs to stick to it. And Tesla was killed cause he wanted free energy for all. Not money and powerful people ruling the masses!

  13. I have made it no secret to all that I love and care for that I have a real problem with Elon Musk. Why….1) I have never heard that he believes in a power higher than that of the brain itself, after all humans invented AI? Why should we have a symbiotic relationship with machines EVER? It’s starting to look like a parasite has been planted in the brains of a large portion of the public. Elon has made himself wealthy. Again why? What is the underlying insecurity of mankind that believes that wealth is the end goal that will protect against any and all problems and threats to personal survival ? Does Mr. Musk even realize he is a dangerous man? It appears he believes the best of himself. God makes it clear that “Man” in his righteousness is as a worm to God. In conclusion has Musk made AI his God along with all too many others? IDK , but it all looks like a can of worms to me. In the past I have been a woman of action. How I came into close contact with a computer Genius that had written an AI program that skimmed pennies off of stock market accounts and converted into Bit coin. I feared he would sell this program to China, since he wasn’t an American citizen, but had been educated at the US taxpayers expense. Not many laws in place against this kind of piracy. We were in a location that had no federal law enforcement abilities. I was arrested, but I felt I did the right thing. It cost me a lot of time and money. Not to mention the shaming of it all. Eventually the charges were dropped against me. Would I do it again? IDK. In my opinion Musk plays on the wrong team. What do I mean by that? It’s always the rag tag team of black sheep that bring it.

  14. The thing is most of the people that are in higher positions of power, tend not to listen to important information like this. Because it May effect their current pay. The Australian government for example had cut the money towards health and science over the past couple of years, and put that cash towards building large freeways, industral products that don't ever end up being finished and private jets.
Now all of a sudden they don't want to do that because they are seeing the problem they could of prepared for, or that could of been prevented in the first place.

  15. Truthfully, the general public should be in the known with any technology that is in work. They create technology and just release it to the general public. If what he’s saying is true, and I believe it is then the public need to vote on this. There’s light and darkness to everything.
