I begin by coating a 16″ x20″ canvas with a layer of white paint to help encourage the paint added next to move more easily and potentially to encourage a reaction producing cells or spontaneous patterns. I have filled an iPod box with many beautiful colors and I use a small scoop to remove them. I use 2 scoops to create a circle in the center. Next, I allow the contents of the scoop to flow from the center outward in a ribbon tapering to a point. Then I reverse the process and bein at the edge of the canvas and taper the ribbon to the center. I use a bamboo skewer laid into the pint and roll it to spread the colors and create patterns. Once covered with paint I add the skewer to new areas and add new “rays” or spikes by laying them down in the white wet paint on the canvas. I also manipulate various portions with the skewer creating spirals. After the recording finishes, I add a few colorful dots and spend half an hour extending the rays down over the edge of the canvas to finish the artwork.
My “pouring” mixture or “recipe” is simple- 10-20% Golden Gac 800 goes into 80 or 90% color to start the mixing process. Mix thoroughly. I add Floetrol,( minimum)enough to double the volume. You could use a more expensive alternative. I like Deco Art pouring medium. If you use squeeze bottles as I do, add a marble and shake your paints every time before you use them. All my acrylic paints are mixed in advance and contained and stored in squeeze bottles. I add no silicon. To create the pearlescent effects seen in most of my artworks I use “Golden’s” Iridescent pearl “Fine” added to colors. By “eye ” until I am pleased with what I see. Every day I learn new things. I will never stop experimenting and I am happy to share what I discover with you. 1. Priscilla…. I love you videos!
You are the reason I am painting daily!
I love it 🥰 AND I find it so relaxing!
I have had a few really tough days and watching your videos have really been uplifting ! Thank you!

  2. I actually like this one better than the other spirals that you have done. Dynamic. When I looked at the thumbnail even before I watched my eye was drawn to the spirals on the circle. LOL if you blow away just remember to click your heels 3 times to come back home. I see a giant daisy with multi colored lines running down the middle of each petal and the dot in the middle is a bee pollinating. Really really beautiful.
