As one of the 20th century’s most influential and celebrated artists, Pablo Picasso imagined and interpreted the world in totally new and unorthodox ways, reinventing our perception of creativity in the process.

Starring Antonio Banderas in the titular role, the second season of National Geographic’s 10-part, Emmy-nominated global event series, GENIUS, explores how the Spanish-born artist’s passionate nature and relentless creative drive were inextricably linked to his personal life, which included tumultuous marriages, numerous affairs and constantly shifting political and personal alliances. GENIUS is executive produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer.

  1. The reviewers don't like the accent.
The reviewers don't like the jumping between times.
The reviewers don't like the womanizing thing.
The reviewers don't like … fuck the reviewers.

  2. Why the f* is spoken in English!!!!? They should have been respectful with the real Picasso and should have used Spanish/French…

  3. this is a horribly produced and inaccurate depiction of picasso's life….a totally-made-for-tv melodrama that completely misses the mark in portraying his facinating life….!

  4. I suffered through the entire series waiting to see some of Picasso's artwork.  But no – up until the very end all they showed was his self absorption and his endless sex drive.  What a missed opportunity to have a really good show.  Too bad NatGeo.

  5. I heard a story once that in his later age he would go into restaurants, eat his fill, and then not pay his bill……instead he would draw something quickly on a napkin and tell the waiter/manager/owner. "there…now you own a "picasso"… that'll be worth more than the bill"

    I can't vouch for it…but that's a story I heard.
