Headspace | Meditation | Changing Perspective

Headspace

Learning how to meditate means accepting that our minds won’t go quiet the moment we sit and close our eyes. So if we can’t just clear the mind on-demand, how are we ever going to relax? In this animation Headspace co-founder, Andy Puddicombe likens the practice of meditation to sitting by the side of a road, with instructions to watch the traffic. How do we stop ourselves getting caught up with the thoughts? It’s a question of perspective.

  1. Your work is a marvel of creativity; similar to a book that was a marvel in its story and insights. "Better Sleep Better Life" by William Brook

  2. This ad changed my life. For the first time, I could finally understand what it meant to meditate and let thoughts "pass me by". I could not be more grateful for this visualization. This had a profound impact on me 3 years ago and I've been working on neutrality ever since. Thank you, Headspace.

  3. always love the animation, but since humans don't generally run after cars, it would be so cute if it were a cute restless/excited dog instead

  4. It's so good.. you know these small videos help me to change my mind , my think , my thoughts about meditation . Really I am serious , meditation is very very important to resee our life ♥️♥️🙏

  5. This video was so impactful in my meditation journey when I first started out. I'm about 4 years in and consistently find myself still playing in traffic but I have the insight to know that the moment I notice I can pop a squat right on the side of the road 🙂

  6. I was diagnosed with anxiety 3 years ago. Headspace has been an absolute blessing for me. The concept in this particular video has helped me especially, even just the other day when I experienced anxiety at work and had no medication. I was driving home and kept reciting this scenario over in my head and it helped immensely. Thank you SO much.

  7. But…sometimes these thoughts are of the nature like " did I turn off the stove" or "should I send an email?" or "should I just ask my boss this before he leaves" etc…in short thoughts which demand immediate action. Then how to deal with these thoughts? There's no time to sit and just watch them…
