TEDx Talks
We regularly interact with and use artificial intelligence (AI) systems in our daily lives (e.g. Google, Facebook and Amazon). However, the adoption of this digital technology in healthcare is slow, but could prove revolutionary. My talk will cover what AI is, how it could be used in the NHS, and paradoxically, how it could make our NHS even more ‘human’
Dr Rebecca Pope is a Clinical Neuroscientist and a Senior Data Scientist who specialises in the use of artificial intelligence within healthcare and preventative medicine. Rebecca was the lead European data scientist for IBM Watson Health, and currently works within KPMG’s Healthcare Practice.
Rebecca has published a number of academic research papers. Her post-doctoral research formed the basis of the 90-minute Channel 4 documentary ‘Drugs Live: Cannabis on Trial’. She has written several scientific commentaries in the Guardian, and is the recipient of National awards including: ‘The British Psychological Society Undergraduate Award’, ‘The International League Against Epilepsy Gowers Essay Award’ and The British Neuropsychiatry Association’s ‘Alwyn Lishman Prize’.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx

Hi!
I just started YouTube and I would love it if you check me out!
She is wrong when she believes that robots can't be emphatic. They can be carrying, protecting, or loving. Just a matter of time, and they play these human emotions to the perfection. So what's the solution? How will we face robots and artificial intelligence? How will we cope with massif unemployment? A resource based economy as defined by the Zeitgeist movement, TZM, is the solution.
Well done Bex – keep believing that believing that people believing that we need you….we need you !!!!!
Anything to promote the NHS is worth listening to – we all need to communicate and as you say 'listen' – keep up sending the message!!! – Rona
