One thing disappointing about entering the art world is that there is a major divide between different art scenes–especially art scenes dominated by academic artists who seem pretty well connected with grants and patrons vs. art scenes dominated by working class individuals who are constantly spending large amounts of their own money and time creating art with very little returns, sometimes exotified as outsider artists.

We have a small museum in downtown Salt Lake City that hosts artists from around the world as well as local student artists. Really like visiting there once a season as that is about the rate at which they rotate their exhibits.

Although it is an "old" video, finding your channel is exceptionally inspiring. As in a conversation, some of my practices, styles, and interest in art are being explained a systematized by your descriptions. It is a pitty that the Art Assignment's page of the list of online art resources is unavailable. Can you post an updated one or share links to other current places?
What about online places like deviantart or tumblr? Most of the things there can ONLY be seen on those websites, and all people creating them are by definition a part of contemporary art community. There are many artists who post their work on those websites which are Rembrandt level of quality, in all styles you can think of.
I troll through Alibris for $1 art books.
