How to Paint Fauvism, Acrylic Painting; Barn Series

This is the end of this barn series. I am not saying I will never paint or draw another barn, but this is the end for this series. I did this in the style of the fauves. I have always been attracted to intense colour. This is probably my favourite style to paint in.

  1. This turned out really good. I'm usually telling my students to never, ever use colors directly from the container – that all store bought colors are just " beginning colors " … but as your video shows … indeed, you can get an excellent result doing just that. But, I still want the students to make their own colors – so I won't show them your video … haha ! ! !

  2. Very cool learning about fauvism. I have to return to traditional media!

This reminds me of a project in high school where I had to mimic Claude Monet's Haystacks series and learn about Impressionism.

  3. I really like it! Well done. I am an artist and i am thinking about switching to fauvism. My question, what do i need to make rigid color mixes out of basic color hues?

    Thanks
