  1. Actuallt, M-12 Rapira is much later production smooth bore cannon.
The same gun, D-10 was used in BS-3 antitank gun, a predecessor of Rapira.

  2. After watching these videos (this and on the T-34), I have grown to despise the Christie suspension and it's incredibly intrusive shock towers. I used to think it was great. I was wrong.

  3. Would love to see a Nashorn, Panzerwerfer sws, Stug IV and Ferdinand's, Brummbar's and a Hummel. Also the Katyusha and the SPA tractor 203mm BMA (Soviet). Whenever you can Chieftain, love your work.

  4. One of my favorites! The Su 85 was good allready and with this one, the german's cats reign come to an end… And they let you drive it! Awesome job!

  5. the Germans in early '45 came up with the JagdPzIV L70 Neu Art with the Panther's 75mm L70 cannon [an amazingly powerful AP gun] and I gotta admit, it looks VERY similar to the SU100.

The JPzIV L70 NA was much more roomier [possibly because of the 75mm cannon?] and could also carry about 100 rounds of ammunition. What a shame there was never enough fuel for the vehicles?
I think the SU100 had much better frontal armour and the profile of JPzIV L70 NA was much higher but it had the rounded 'saurkopf'[?] mantlet and the frontal boxlike shape which is what reminded me of the JPzIV L70. I don't think the Germans built more than 200 before the war was over but it some useful abilities like the MG34 fired from inside w a full 360 arc and it had a short range small 'mortar' that usually was used for signalling but also could fire HE for use against Allied Infantry.

It's in the Saumur Museum and you can clearly see where it was hit as the face-hardened armour is very brittle and there is a large crack from where an AP round penetrated.

  6. I've seen you review several vehicles now but don't recall seeing you actually drive anything other than Soviet or Russian vehicles.  To me that speaks volumes…..

  7. I'd HATE to be the commander in that….slip a little bit in combat, and you'll be spread all over the inside of the vehicle by your own gun shudder
