“It Could END The Royal Family As We Know It” | Caribbean Nations On Reparations

TalkTV

Commonwealth leaders have agreed it’s time to open discussions on reparations for the transatlantic slave trade, despite the UK’s initial stance to avoid the topic at the recent two-day summit in Samoa.

A statement signed by 56 heads of government, including UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, calls for a “meaningful, truthful, and respectful conversation” on reparatory justice.

Sir Keir stressed that financial reparations weren’t discussed, reaffirming the UK’s position against paying them.

Still, there are increasing calls from Commonwealth nations for the UK to acknowledge its historical role in the slave trade, with reparations potentially taking both financial and symbolic forms.

Peter Cardwell speaks with The Sun’s former royal editor, Duncan Larcombe.

  1. Yeah. Good idea. Pay, let all those colonial countries pay, from Italy, Rome, Dutch, Spanish, Portugal, Britain, Belgium, Germany, Russia, Egyptian, Greece. Persia, oh, and these countries in Africa as well from Serra Lyon, Ivory Coast. When all these countries have paid, send those who have received their payouts back to their beloved country where their ancestors came from and stripped them of their citizenship too.

  2. No, the only reparations for past slavery we can make today as humanity is to stop modern slavery. Now let's talk about the history of slavery. It is not simple.

Between 1500 AD and 1890 AD, over twenty-two million (22,000,000) Africans were sold into slavery. Seven million (6,856,000) were sold east: 3,956,000 were sold across the Sahara, and 2,900,000 were sold across the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean. Fifteen million (15,000,000) were trafficked across the Atlantic, and unknown million were killed in taking slaves and transporting slaves.

So the Trans-Saharan slave ineffect pug to the historic slave trade of Africa. It was a new market for Africas to sell their own into slavery to look into the history of African nations involved in the slave trade, so examples are.

The Kingdom of Dahomey was a West African kingdom located in present-day Benin. They were a major source of slaves for the Atlantic Slave trade, raiding nearby settlements for slaves, and as a point of interest, the Benin bronzes were created by proffites of slavery.

The Kingdom of Allada was a coastal kingdom located in southern Benin. It reached the peak of its power in the 16th century, when it was a centre of the Atlantic Slave trade, being a huge source of slaves. Slaves were captured by raiding and attacking enemy kingdoms. These slaves were then traded on to the European slavers who were bound for America.

The Alawite Dynasty was a kingdom in Morocco that took part in the Trans-Saharan slave trade. They captured many Africans and sold them as slaves to the Middle Eastern Empires. They also raided many African towns and were a centre for the Arab slave trade; it also sourced slaves from Europe through the activities of Barbary Corsairs, who were willing to capture and enslave Frenchmen, Dutchmen, Greeks, Portuguese, Italians, the Irish, Scandinavians, Russians, Georgians, and any other nationalities sailing in inadequately armed seafaring vessels. The largest group of Europeans enslaved by the Moroccans were the Spanish.

Egypt was a major player in the Trans-Saharan and then the Atlantic slave trade. It started in 641 AD with the Muslim Conquest of Egypt by the Rashidun caliphate. With that, the trade route from Egypt to Mecca and the Middle East was established. The trans-Saharan slave trade thus began in Egypt. Slavery ended in the 1900’s after immense pressure by the British.

The Ashanti Empire was an empire based in present-day Ghana. They were formed in 1700 and took part in the slave trade until the 19th century. The economy of the Ashanti Empire was based on the trade of gold and slaves, while their army mainly served as a tool to capture more and more Africans and force them into slavery. Captives in war were taken as slaves to be either treated as slaves in the Empire or be exported across the Atlantic Ocean to the Americas.

And this list goes on and on…

  3. All they want to do is bankrupt Britain and turn us into a proper 3rd world country, sick of hearing about this bs, their own ancestors sold them and the british shed so much blood to end it, the british have already paid so once again turn your sights towards those that still have slavery!

  4. They have no rights to reperations it was us that that stoped every other country from doing slavery we the british have given them money every bloody year no no no no no reperations sick of hearing this

  5. Those speaking against slavery should praise Britain for her historical effort in stopping the slave trade. Instead they ask for what? Reparations? For having stopped the slavers? This is so nonsensical it betrays the real covert reason behind it. Destabilisation of world peace.
Politicians taking the bait are either total idiots, or complicit. Either way they must be held responsible.

  6. I have family in British Caribbean island nations, and NOBODY cares about reparations. Slavery is over, and the residents know it. The issue of reparations is being brought up by outside agitators (Russia, China) who would love to spread communism by pushing out democratic ideals. They are trying to tear nations apart from the inside. My prayer is that the UK and Commonwealth governments understand this.

  7. How many times can they pay reparations it will never end. Every time he goes to these countries they keep asking for reparations. Charles should stop going to commonwealth countries maybe just put an end to the commonwealth countries what’s the point of it, it’s not relevant anymore. Serves no purpose. What work spending thousands to travel around the world what a lovely life you call that work. Maybe it should be the end of the monarchy. It’s not the same since the passing of the Queen.

  8. The African rulers sold their own people to slavers. What about the Belgiums, Spanish, Portuguese etc? They were all at it centuries ago and the British ended it all.

  9. All nations that should consider reparations claims if the U.K. is forced to pay.

  10. Same centuries old story, the very wealthy and very privileged smear their misdeeds on the 99% who had NOTHING to do with the sin and benefited not a jot from it.

  11. They are coming to us because they know the much bigger villains – the descendants of the Arab and African slavers would tell them where to get off! 🙄

  12. They have a dam audacity. Playing the race card ehy did pur soldiers die for them years ago and we were in debt for years. . Even if we did do some wrong whynfo people today who were not even born have to pay. How can this country afford all this money. Germany the nazis def were guilty of killing six million Jews. Why dint the people who lost their families ask for repartations from Germany. Do y see my point. The people of Germany now are not responsible for whst happened then a d the british people are not responsible fir what happened the although then we were not the o ly ones. For gods sake we got rid of slavery. It sickens me that school children are taught by left wing teachers that our empire was all bad. Yes we did some bad things like all empires but we did a lot of good like build schools roads hospitals etc. We helped these countries and also have done aot of hood for the world. Are they grateful no
.the world seems tooce knocking thos country. Take when we left the eu. Comments from eu countries calling us an island off Europe.

  13. Let those who sold them in the first place give reparation . We have not long since repaid the financial loan taken out for their freedom. The loss of life it took to gain freedom can never be repaid.

  14. They moved to our country had kids, got paid by the system, thos kids now run around knifing each other and everyone else no one feels safe. They owe us money, this stuff has happened to people thst are alive now, not 6 generations ago. Absolute whoppers. Joke Nation.

  15. No ..!!!! That’s in the past , it’s history … STAND UP FOR THE COMMONWEALTH..!!!! ❤🇦🇺🇬🇧
We moved on from slavery days … and nobody alive today had anything to do with it ..!! Let’s not fall into a communist world 😡 ..!!!

    I commented this 2 weeks ago ..

I just watched a video that was full of some conspiracies about Diddy and MJ s death .. what got me was the same bodyguard that starts with F ? Forgot his long name. 🤔 Anyway this bodyguard was only new when MJ was doing “This is it “ concert .. All of a sudden that new bodyguard of MJs after he died , become Diddys bodyguard . He was also in a shooting in 2022 at Diddys studio .. Another thing this bodyguard apparently has a reputation for making problems and people disappear, don’t forget he also knows all the cops .. All the cops ..
Then the video goes to Harry and Diddy, which made me think about everything .. so here’s my conspiracy theory.. 😁

All I can say is Everything is kind of making sense… Why Harry needed to take homeland security to court . Especially why Megan pushed him hard for it.. Lucky homeland security couldn’t trust them and said no more security for you , your not working royals . lol .. Diddys house got done by homeland security . So yeah I can imagine that Megan (with all her suspicious contacts Epstein, Ron Burkle,Oprah, Tyler Perry, Maxwell , Andrew.. Hillary Clinton , Obama and many more , etc, yeah all the rich and powerful which she knew before marrying harry) she needed security cause she knows too much , she needed Homeland security to get info on the Diddy raid and other raids that been gathering info for the last 10years to do this raid , probably thinking Harry has access .. 🤦🏼‍♀️ (Didn’t homeland security erase all of Megan’s bad past and connections to Epstein and yachts etc … she needed inside info …always questions on where abouts of the royals and their engagements etc , don’t forget her words “ only takes 1 plane crash to the throne “ , acting like a psychopath.. playing the racism card , trying to tear down the monarchy and turn people against it..
For who Megan ? Your profile rich friends that want to take over the world and make a “One World “ .. Cause your high profile disgusting friends want control , Control of the world , Control of the People .. Including the 56 countries under the Commonwealth.. Yep , that’s Megan Markle for you , blackmailing Harry and the royals , just like Diddy and Epstein and others have done so also ..!! And I’m not saying Harry is innocent either , he has dark shadows hovering over him .
This is why “The People” have stood more loyal and protected of the monarchy since Megan arrived” Cause “THEY” want to take over and have what the Royals have .. Control , Access to the world , The People …
I mean could you imagine these rich and powerful having control of the world 🤦🏼‍♀️ The world would be turned into one big “Diddy Freak Party”.. and probably back to the old days of slavery and etc .

  16. That all this a grab for cash, that won't benefit any country that receives it like foreign aid it will magically disappear into Swiss Banks Acoounts.

  17. While it's correct the Church of England is paying reparations for the fortunes it made from the trans Atlantic slave trade, the ordinary working men and women should not.

  18. you are already paying reparations by giving housing, food, transportation, education, healthcare for free to all the blacks and muslims that have entered your country and have been and are on welfare

  19. No we shouldn’t when is the African Countries going to take responsibility for selling their own people to countries time they all listed to American Thomas Stowell on slavery
