In this lecture, he talks about Big Five trait openness to experience, which is the dimension composed of an amalgam of creativity and intelligence. he also discuss IQ: how it is measured, what it means, how powerfully it predicts long-term life success, as well as the highly skewed Pareto distribution of creative production.

  1. It's illegal for corporations to use IQ tests.

So they have universities do the IQ test for them, and then hire people based on the Universities. It's not like the education at one institution is going to be hugely better than at another. A lot of high-profile universities like MIT have some very bad professors – because they're there to do research, not to teach. Great professors, bad teachers is actually more common the higher the school gets ranked, generally speaking. Which means that while the science coming out of the laboratories are great, the students coming out of the school are only great because they were selected on their greatness before coming in. They'd actually be better scientists and engineers if they went somewhere else with better professors.

  2. Didn't even look at columns and rows. Three stars, three squares, two triangles. Each has one, two or three dots. What is missing? A triangle with two dots. Same answer different logic chain.

  3. I read lots of superb opinions on the internet about how exactly Rotogenflux Methods will help you increase your IQ of 20 points. Has anyone tried using this iq boost secrets?

  4. Has anyone used the Rotogenflux Methods to increase your IQ of 22 points? Simply do a google search. On there you'll find an awesome suggestions about how you can increase your IQ of 22 points. Why don't you give it a chance? perhaps it is going to work for you too.

  5. I read lots of superb opinions on the net about how Rotogenflux Methods can help you increase your IQ of 20 points. Has any one tried using this iq boost secrets?

  6. In the last one, 7 is an arguable answer too. Has to be a black triangle, meaning 3,5,or7. Each row has two vertical bars of the same color and one different. That leaves 5 or 7. Each row has two horizontal bars of the same color, one different. That leaves 7.

  7. On the third and hardest test i could argue the answer is 7. each row has one of each colored triangle, narrowing it down to a black triangle missing. Both the horizontal lines and vertical lines have 2 of one color, and 1 of the another on each row. 7 Fits this pattern.

  8. Prof. Peterson's last IQ question slide is wrong: the correct answer is #7. Each row and column has a triangle of each color, therefore ? has black triangle, leaving only #3, 5 and 7 as possible answer choices. The next two are harder but use the same analysis as each other. Each row and each column of vertical bars has 2 of 1 color and the 3rd of another. Apply the rule and ? must have either yellow or black vertical bar. That eliminates Dr. Peterson's choice of #3, leaving only 5 or 7. Same rule, but now for the horizontal bar: ? must be either black or blue. That eliminates #5 leaving #7 as the (sole) correct answer choice.

  9. 3 was best because the pattern was that the first picture on the row’s body color predicts the horizontal line’s color on the third piece. The second picture on the row’s body predicts the vertical colored line on the third piece. The the body color on the third piece itself can be determined to be black since it hasn’t been used yet in its row

  10. To the people struggling with the third problem thinking it might be 7.

Body colour of the first is always equal to the horizontal line of the third. Body colour of the second is always equal to the vertical line of the third. That information alone gives only one alternative and that is 3.

This is probably something like an average+ difficulty problem, not anything like the difficulty of late problems in proper iq test that differentiate people with >140 iq from regular people. I would know because I never get those problems right.

  11. The biggest problem with IQ is the name, Intelligence Quotient. Whilst it DOES correlate with g (general intelligence) it is not a direct measurement of g. IQ would be MUCH better named something along the lines of ASP (Abstract Solving Potential) because that's what IQ tests are, abstraction tests as distinct from other cognitive tests such as accuracy of recall, speed to learn, speed of recall etc. (which are averaged out and called g).

  12. New low for youtube. Recommending me nazi crap. Going to reward your channel by downvoting and reporting every video so that this doesn't happen again

  13. Can anyone please explain to me how the option 3 is the right answer? For me ist pretty clear that option 7 fits in the picture if you compare the vertikal and horizontal rows

  14. Goddammit!!! That first one was kicking my ass because I expected it to be one of the difficult ones. So I thought that all eight of the symbols were in a linear pattern, left to right, from top left to bottom right. And nothing made sense for a ninth figure! I wasn't even freakin' thinking that they were three distinct rows or columns!!! >.<

  15. Why does this man lie so much? ACT and SAT test are aptitude test. They test things you have already learned, not cognitive ability. Where in the hell did he get his PHD? HE also said the military uses IQ test. No they do not, they use the ASAVB tests, which is another aptitude test. There is a huge difference in aptitude test versus IQ test. Practically everyone who goes to school takes a aptitude test at some point. Virtually no one takes an IQ test. IQ test can only be given by a licensed psychologist on a one on one session. Usually people who take IQ test are suspected of being either learning disabled or gifted. Very few people ever take these test. Please do not take my word for it. Just do the research. This man is a fraud.
