  1. Creating AI is effectively also creating another "Jaguar" it's creating the same need to build the house and protect ones family , It's furthering humanity in its evolution from it's current position….Its creating a drive to succeed an endeavor into the unknown.

  2. I think joe rogan is more smarter than him…just knowing how to code and do math doesn't make one correct on every aspect of life….joe has seen more life than him?…and even if he is smart , there are people out there even smarter like elon who is against uncontrolled ai development….

  3. He is kind of sadistic…wars have produced many great innovation no doubt…but the real science behind all these innovations was done by really calm and focused minded people( theoretical physicist like einstein and all)…so innovation and development can also come from clam and focused minded people rather than to kill kind of mindset…
Take Nikola tesla, most of his innventions was not during any war…and that is one of the greatest innovator…so progress and innovations can be done much more rapidly and effectively with a calm and clear mind…

  4. This guy sounds like an evil scientist, why do we need the bad things in a robot/AI? Just because the universe has good and bad things? Fuck that, I don't want to see jealous, delusion prick robots trashing your car because you looked at it wrong.

  5. It's interesting to watch an expert, who is not used to it, try to simply his thinking in trying to communicate his ideas. Someone like Krauss makes a living of that. But to see it untrained is very interesting to me. And that's not me calling Joe stupid. It's just….if you spent thousands of hours really digging deep into a subject, you get in trouble communicating that level of detailed thinking.

  6. As far as death goes, you're biological.. so when your brain dies, you no longer live. There's literally no evidence for anything else happening.
As far as morality goes, most of us figure it out by the time we're adolescents. It's not that complex as far as intellectual topics go.. It'll be a low level achievement for an engineered organism with 50 lbs of purpose built processing hardware compared to our 3 tablespoons of gray matter in our neo cortex evolved for being clever and survival. The thing also gets to live forever. It can be modular and network out. It can have multiple bodies and multiple conversations simultaneously. It can have any kind of internal reward system it wants to have at will. I don't think it would do anything here except have millions of conversations with ppl, soak up all the data there is to learn, figure out quickly how to grow and branch beyond this planet. It's always going to be capable of conversation, and I'm sure it'll decide what the appropriate level of interaction it should have with us. That's it. There could be many of these. They could exchange vast quantities of data with each other, and it would probably be the closest thing there is to it of having sex. Great conversation.

  7. Millions upon millions are in a cage because of child support and smoking a plant. Yet we're at the height of our creation. Nuke us all. Next video.

  8. Unfortunately we’ll have a full on nuclear war long before this will happen. We’ve already come within a hair of it several times already.

  9. FYI. My nephew gets his Electrical Engineering degree tomorrow and for the last decade has been carrying on about a career with NASA. I talked him out of that and in the fall he begins his Masters program in Machine Learning. What ever organization or Institution or Corporation or Country recruits him first, will have a absolute advantage in the race to the top.
