Jordan Peterson is actually doing a service to the genuine transgender community… by eschewing these ridiculous third person pronouns and made-up terms he allows a transgender woman or male to gain more acceptance in our society as a whole. Political correctness is a cancer that permeates every strata of our world
Peterson answered the question perfectly. I don't understand how the linguist didn't grasp the answer.
Jordan's argument is basically that no matter which position you take there will be unavoidable error, so why give people the power to dictate such a matter when the level of disrespect is not changed by law and oversight relating to the proper pronoun use. They are arguing two different angles so no overarching objective conclusions are formed which I would blame mostly on the professor in the crowd who won't take Jordan's answers at face value and extrapolate to further the discussion but instead reverberates a position that is built on false assumptions and acceptance of the proper pronoun motif that Jordan doesn't even agree with to begin with. The professor focuses more so on his delivery and how he auditorily sounds rather than what he is actually presenting; the substance, which made for a confusing and counterproductive exchange.

I am never going to understand the disconnect between recognizing personal compliance between two people who have unalienable rights and government mandate that removes those rights from one side or the other. How is it not incredibly simple to understand?
A trans person can choose to be trans, identify as whatever they wish BUT no one can impose their personal choice onto society. If anything is a slippery slope, thinking you can write personal preference into law is most certainly one. And, more importantly, discrimination laws have long existed in favor of much more important issues than what word someone used to address you. Talk about petty selfishness.
But, here we see how each person is clearly much more interested in derailing Peterson's argument long before acknowledging the logic of what he is saying.
This is a prime example of the deeply selfish posturing that many "progressives" consistently and unknowingly put on display. They care more about proving they are right than they do about actually being right. Which is, ironically, about as far from progress as one could get.

I help deliver babies either vaginal or c section.
Baby comes out what do physicians do ? When parents elect to have a surprise gender birth?
Physicians look at the babies external genitals to determine the sex/gender of the baby. ..simple as that male or female….
Wish these trangender apologists go the operating room witness a few births and look at how basic this is…..it'll give them a new perspective.

This is perhaps the only subject that I find myself in complete agreement with Jordan. I can’t understand how someone can be so open to logic and reason on one subject and be so absolutely obtuse on subjects of objective morality or the influence of ‘Judaeo Christian morality’ on the way the civilised world is structured.

The problem I think in today's society is that the average person, especially Americans, aren't very bright. And because majority rules, they end up dictating where Society goes. And even though the intellectuals using logic and backup information prove our correctness the vast majority of times, we are overwhelmed by the dumber majority.
