Learn to meditate in ten minutes a day with the Headspace app. Each day, it delivers a new guided meditation based on teachings that Andy Puddicombe, Co-founder of Headspace, learned during the ten years he spent studying meditation and mindfulness in monasteries across Asia.

The first series, Basics, is completely free and teaches the basics of meditation and mindfulness. After that, via subscription, Headspace offers hundreds of hours of original content tailored to the specific needs of each user. Themed meditation packs are supported by a host of content, including animations, articles and videos in the playful, quirky style that makes Headspace instantly recognizable. Along with daily meditations, Headspace also offers On-The-Go exercises for users short on time and SOS sessions to support subscribers in those meltdown moments.

  1. Headspace is one of the best recommendations one can (gently!) offer to a friend suffering from the isolation and uncertainty of the lockdown. And there is a fantastic multipart Headspace introduction to meditation now running on Netflix. There is a very brief, but very judicious survey of the practice from ''mindfulness of breathing'' to ''creating space around pain'' to basic ''loving kindness'' practice. Perfect for the beginner, but very inspiring for the more experienced practitioner, as well. Dogma free, but narrated by a former Buddhist monk. People are suffering right now and are in isolation. There is a method to relieve that suffering and it has been in ''R&D'' for at least 2500 years! Metta!
