  1. AI in games has barely improved, and that is being generous. AI is still predictable and mostly makes dumb choices, sometimes it gets stuck on idiot loops or random world collision boxes. Even on the hardest difficulty AI behaves the same but has Massive HP pools and increased damage. AI is mostly useless and by the time these eggheads push it into usefulness it will become too smart for it's own good. Skynet.

  2. Not saying that I dont want this to happen but, can AI take the unfun monotonous jobs first? Haha
I've really liked that AI has turned into a really useful tool and theres still creativity involved in how to use it or develop it but the idea of computed neural networks pumping out content for us to consume just turns me off.
Theres already so many people making music and other art out there, it takes work and dedication to be noticed and develop it as a career. How much harder is it going to be when a single AI can produce hundreds of songs a day? Will it be easily accessible? Will everyone have their own personal maestro?
"HeyAlexa, compose something in c sharp minor similar to Chopin for me."
As far as games go, the amount of tools available for free or cheap is outstanding and really encouraging as someone learning unity and blender (coding, modeling etc.) Casually for a little over a year now

  3. You all think this is nifty, huh????
Wait until they have particles in your brain that can activate…. when ever they want… oh wait…. America has been ingesting pills for decades now…. and the Hebrew word for Pharmaceutical…. is Sorcery.
So… these chemicals and oils you have been eating your whole life are about to be activated so that they can control you… hm?????
    How do we fight this?
    Jesus.
Remember the man who hung on a cross so that all of your sins would be forgiven…. and dont think that this kind of stuff isn't happening all over the world. I love you. GOD LOVES YOU ALL. COME TO HIM…. THIS TECHNOLOGY will drag you to the Pit.
    You've been warned.
Love each other…. not your THINGS because you. Cannot take them with you when we as ascend to the heavens….. dont be too late. Accept Jesus now….
    God bless all of you

  4. well… creating 3d assets is an amazingly complex and therefor massively expensive process, but you shouldn't forget that the big companies (studios and publisher or whoever holds the content rights) already have vast models available due to their previous games. i think it is highly unlikely that artists on the big blockbuster titles always start from scratch! if ubisoft for example is already having a library with about 10k fully detailled and ready2use bildings, they are more likely to use the existing stuff and just edit it, right? of course that depends on what is already in the library and the artistic direction of the game. – for a generic "realistic looking" game taking place in a city, there are surely at best 30% of the content made from scratch. i estimate the biggest part of the 3D content is simply resued, changed or expanded on the library. how many times can you model a fire extinguisher? or.. would you really want to wast time on that, if you can simply take one from your library?

  5. All marketing bullshit. I work in AI. More money is burnt in AI on random consultants than ever will be earned. Most stuff is easier and cheaper done in traditional ways. On top humans also don't produce data "that looks right" for marketing but which is. Also, what the heck do you know about AI. You're just a marketing toy.

  6. The less time devs spend on animations/graphics, the more time and effort they will spend on gameplay mechanics, which is the most important imo.

  7. sadly the price wont go down.. value of a dollar is decreasing in society and if anything they will abuse the fact that communities in particular naive casuals and children wont know or realize that games are potentially taking less effort to make.. the graphics will look insane and it will be all the more reason to milk the ones that know better and even then the ones that know better will still pay it even if its overpriced

  8. optics have nothing to do with a good game. the best games i played and enjoyed are almost 10 years old and i still prefer them over any game out yet
