Although we typically make vintage versions of the most current songs, we decided to switch things up this week and cover a 1989 classic- Madonna’s “Like A Prayer.” Vocalist Robyn Adele Anderson ( http://www.facebook.com/robynadeleanderson ) takes us back to the 1940’s on this Lindy Hop-friendly jazz rendition of one of the biggest songs of the ’80s.

The band:
Robyn Adele Anderson – vocals http://www.instagram.com/robynadele19
Robert Edwards – trombone
Ben Golder-Novick – alto sax http://www.facebook.com/benthesaxguy
Adam Kubota – bass http://www.facebook.com/adamkubotabass
Allan Mednard – drums http://www.twitter.com/allanmednard
Scott Bradlee – piano http://www.facebook.com/scottbradleemusic

  1. I just love your style Robin, it is really great, started watching your videos about a week ago.. You are my favorite in foreign national singers and..YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE GIFTED SINGERS!! I sure can see that in your videos.. Greetings to you and your band from west coast of Turkiye, İzmir ..

  2. Always nice to try something different, but the style just doesn't carry the song. Songs are written to fit the musical genre, and this one makes no sense in a swing band – the melody just sits there like roadkill. A perfectly good pop song of its time, just not suitable for this treatment. Oh well.

  3. OK I ? No African American singers Or B or Haiti or Fck gd damnit we still aint past color yet?????Fn kids inter racial I am Welsh Irish German what could be the 3 worst fups who battled and beat each other up??? I don't know what to say but This era needed to be OH WAIT IT WAS????????? I AM CONFUSED I ENJOY THE MUSIC BUT MODERN JUKE BOX INTEGRATE!

  4. That strange feeling, when you are from country of endless winter, bears and communism, but you strongly love this american sound…..and you press repeat once again

  5. Never thought there'd be a day I'd see you guys LIVE!!! Shame that Robyn won't be in the lineup anymore… She's amazing. But still super excited for this 20th Feb! <3
