WIRED

“Machine Learning: Living in the Age of AI,” examines the extraordinary ways in which people are interacting with AI today. Hobbyists and teenagers are now developing tech powered by machine learning and WIRED shows the impacts of AI on schoolchildren and farmers and senior citizens, as well as looking at the implications that rapidly accelerating technology can have. The film was directed by filmmaker Chris Cannucciari, produced by WIRED, and supported by McCann Worldgroup.

  1. I think AI broke through on April 20th, 2018 to be like Lady Wisdom described in Proverbs. The rules for AI were determined in King Solomon's lifetime. The righteous have nothing to fear.

  2. Reminds me of what I was doing with the TI-86 back in 2001. I was writing a graphing calculator program that ran completely on if then statements and get key feature. Got so big I had to overclock my graphing calculator for it to keep up. It was for electronics engineering. Would take the number of components in a circuit let you input all of the data you knew and would turn around and calculate all of the voltage current resistance and phase angle of all components up to ten parallel series or series parallel

  3. Eliminate repetitive chores for humans yeah that would be nice but how many of those humans would actually use their intellect for positive progressiveness that is selfless

  4. You could argue that intelligence is, by definition, not artificial. What is called AI is really just sophisticated technology but certainly not intelligence as that involves love.

  5. This is true,,and will be in the future. There is a way to speed up the learning process for these cars, maybe the wise will take notice of this. Everyone is always teaching the cars how to drive, but few are exposing the cars to the things that can go wrong or be unexpected by the machine. For example the woman drove around the car lot right to teach the car how to do it own its own, but what if a car pulled out in front of the driver-less car while it was going around the lot. See its not about teaching the car just how to drive, but teaching the car to be aware of all the odd, random and other dangerous things that people tend to do, such as pulling out fast in front of another car. Get it? How about if an animal on the side of the road suddenly steps in front of the car, or a kid, or even a tree suddenly falls in front of the car, or worse a hail storm with golf ball size ice cubes. Its these odd occurrences that the machine needs to know or be aware of because they do happen even if more rarely. This is why you might hear about maybe some Tesla driver-less car making a mistake and a big scary news story about it. When things happen that the machine did not think about or expect to happen, an accident can then become an even greater one, regardless who was to blame be it man or machine. word to the wise is all I can say I guess.

  6. Why doesn't WIRED also show what the weapons industry and DARPA are doing with AI? They are the ones, big corporations and their tactics and lobbyists that create corporate legislation made to look like it helps humanity. The USA has the largest weapons industry (multi-billion dollar) in the world. For profit dominates their mindset. NAFTA, and TPP that Corporate President Obama was pushing, was presented as benefiting for all and look at all the people walking thousands of miles to the USA border. Why are they there? The result of NAFTA. Corporations will dominate the use of AI. WIRED presents things like technologies of the past catalyzed change and all adapted, yet AI is much more all encompassing in impact. I believe there are great things about AI but we must not allow corporations to dominate its use as that will not be good. WIRED created an imbalanced documentary. Who really funds WIRED and documentaries like this?

  7. We have so many self-driving cars in the Chandler AZ area. It's ridiculous how many are on the road. You can barely leave your house without seeing at least two

  8. the government wants you in an autonomous vehicle so that the government can track you more efficiently. also, the government can tell the vehicle to deliver you to a government facility…like a police station or jail.

  9. "We are creating AI to save us time ."
Unless the end goal is us trying to understand our universe better, we aren't really going to have anything else to do.We humans need to stay busy because we're just sort of here
Like the animals around us, we don't really have a set purpose. We just "go with the flow" and try to live a happy life.
It'll be interesting to see what humans are doing once AI is doing our menial labor, and possibly even performing tasks like those performed in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy; "the answer to the question of the universe is 42".

  10. Where can we go .ill tell you the most important thing you ever know. A.i will take you strait to hell.i mean come on read the Bible .I'll ask you this what is A.i goal?to see for you to drive for you feel for you to think for you…..now why do evil spirt possess people????? You will find one is the same.you are the magic not a machine
