University of Oregon College of Design

The UO John Yeon Center for Architecture and Landscape invited architect Michael Graves to return to Portland to discuss the future of his 1982 Postmodern landmark, the Portland Public Service Building. With the City of Portland prepared to invest over $100 million to renovate the controversial building, Graves addressed the roots of its design, the limits of the budget, and what might be changed to make it better.

The conversation took place in October, 2014. Graves passed away in March, 2015.
