  1. er, so what are the 50 million drivers taxi drivers/truck drivers going to do now? whats gonna happen to all the trucker stops and small towns that depend on their business

  2. Sure Pat. Everyone can listen to podcasts read books and become coders and entrepreneurs. Then they forgo eating and use their imaginary money to invest and get millions of dollars

  3. My kids used to worry about their friends not answering a text within 3 seconds of checking on them. I told my kids that 30 years ago if my friends were sick here is how we would find out. We would be waiting for our friends at school, realize that they are late or not showing up. The bell would ring and they are not in class, so that probably meant they were not coming. You waited until the school day was over and after getting home make a call to their house. Maybe they answered or maybe they didn't. you left a message, if they had a answering machine, then waited until they called back. Then finally around 6 or 7 pm they call back and let you know they were sick. But guess what? Life went on. The human race can actually go on without knowing if a friend is sick for the day and we do not receive a text from them in 2.3 seconds after they wake up. Life will go on if we forget our phone and we cannot see ESPN's score updates, or Fox News latest "News Alert".

  4. First you need to be able to afford an automated car, which pretty much only includes rich people. That’s why they have no issue with AI

  5. Dude, Andrew Yang is not demonizing technology and artificial intelligence, he agrees that technology brings more productivity, what he is poking at are the companies who benefited the most from advancement of technology and leaving the majority of American citizen in an accumulated stress, he is talking about the system and people not the technology itself. Yang's proposal is the redistribution of wealth that works for all people. I am pretty sure that some people will abuse it, but to most of conscientious Americans it is a boost of morale.

  6. I love you Pat but the reality is you're talking of innovation. Ai is competition to the human race the more it develops the more dangerous potential it has. But ofc we'll have to wait and see

  7. As an engineer, I find this video an utter garbage. Its the first time for me to get such vibe from this channel really.
Statistically speaking, 7 to 12% of the population have lower IQ than 100 which makes them impossible to train to perform average complex jobs. You could think of that as jobs requiring more brain power than driving a truck or flipping burgers.
Now with automation kicking in, you want these people (who are just unfortunate to have a lower IQ) to train themselves and turn into engineers as well? Give me a break.
I dont agree with giving people free money, but a good society never ignores its vulnerable bunch.

  8. Know this as technology advances so will the daily of life, becoming easier but with a high cost. The cost is your humanity and ability to work with hands expect for specific tasks where machines can't separate certain materials from one another. The humanity is the people to people connection that allows to feel and be human. The problem is as technology increases it makes life easier but destroys jobs and the environment. The problem that automation and artificial intelligence is it creates wealth for those can afford it( business owners and corporations ) and it steals opportunity for the masses(employees and the people) . If everything is automated who will have the money to buy anything? Please someone explain thank you and may you have a prosperous day. LION OUT

  9. So correct perspective in terms of looking at life Patrick. You are only wrong with one thing, its just matter of time until people become irrelevant.
We are just soo ego centric that we think we are ultimate specie, its a fact that as much as good we have done, we have done much more bad stuff to everything around us..
But yeah, people alive today most likely won't have as huge issue with that matter as people in 100 years will.

  10. So the guy processing photographic films lost his job. The retail album store is obsolete. The mail office is losing letters, while gain effectively Amazon's online shipment… That retail shipment from Amazon it would have otherwise been bought in a store. So now the local cinema losing visitors if the movie featured isn't exclusive on theater first. Yea your argument falls flat once you consider that for every minute we all save collectively, that's one less minute spent on someone else working and getting a salary.
