  1. In my country, art colleges love the "modern art"
I thought that they actually teach decent art and I went to consultate my portfolio, it was full of realistic portraits, body studies and overall stuff… creative original things aswell and they just saw one thing and said "NO, Don't ever show this to anyone, this is so commerical and sellable!! It may be anatomically correct, but no.." And it's like that everywhere, like then they saw my sketches when I was trying out a marker (literally scribbles of circles) and they were like "now that's art!" Dude. So I showed them work of some amazing artists that inspire me and they were like "ugh realism. That's so basic" so no, it wasn't problem in my art, but they even hated some big and famous artists I showed them and I was like why tho, they know anatomy, they know how to stylize it and make great original things
Basically testing out a marker and making childish scribbles is better than realistic body study.

  2. You see, that banana ducktaped to the paper that this content creator has made is a symbol of how the plagiarists of the planet think they could make a living, he knew people would reject it, this is the meaning of trying to sell it, the banana isn't the art piece, the attempt to get monetary gain is the art piece

  3. Real art is something people would appreciate even if they found it in a garbage bin, not knowing where it came from, who made it, what it was supposed to mean or symbolize, etc. Real art is valuable even without any context whatsoever. Conversely,. if the only reason people call something art is because it's advertised as such – then it's not art.

  4. I promise I will start painting in old-school oil (so it should dry and cure in 1 year… maybe 200years) fruits and vegetables super realistically,so it should make amazing impression 🤠 After that I'll start carving for 5 years in granite a curvy lady (preferably naked) also to make a good impression 🤠
Classic art it's good where it is.Not all classic art is good. There are many very beautiful modern art too.
Also…no offense but a designer it is not an artist. If you as a designer like classic and primitive art, is your choice.
I've seen painters copying the old masters, only for the sake of joy…Can you call it art? Maybe it is 🙃
It's all about human nature, before,in medieval times people (especially the richest) needed to be entertained,so artist been doing what they could.Today is no different… only nowadays it's century of speed and information, people are hard to entertain.Abstract art, real abstract art is very hard to create. A lot of people say that hes/her child could do it,or a cat or whoever they want… To make abstract art with meaning , and aesthetically appealing it's hard.
Indeed… banana tapped into wall is rubbish, it was something original, unexpected and the most important had impact. All the frustrated and indoctrinated artists been disgusted and shocked.Let me tell you… every one was talking about it.This is the point of art.
We could talk debate and argued about it day & night for the rest of our lives and we'll achieve nothing.
Insulting one artist or another it will bring nothing but just lost time.

  5. At first I was like, "Oh that's a really realistic banana with tape on it!"

And then I realized it was actually real, and now I feel real dumb 🤣

  6. I hate saying this because I like to keep an open mind, but this specific type of modern art insults my standards and my intelligence. A hole in the wall might be art, but it deserve to be on a pedestal. Same goes for a canvas painted a single colour, scribbles, a pile of garbage, a photograph of a potato (yes I went there) or a banana taped to a wall or canvas.
