Agree with the video, but he really should have said contemporary or postmodern art rather that modern art. The era of modern art ended about 50 years ago.
Sadly you can't call it modern art anymore as we live in the post modern art era meaning their not creating original work their just copying the idea of the modern art movement. Meaning their just being worthless. That and looking for meaning in a Jackson Pollack is completely missing the point. His conceptual point was if he could make something to challenge what could be called a painting. Dumm elites and people thinking they know anything read into it way too much

as an artist myself I partly agree with this. While some modern art is bad not all of it is bad. take a look at digital art, a lot of digital art is amazing, and just as good as traditional art. A digital painting takes as much talent if not more than a traditional painting. Yes art has changed, some of it good some bad.

I am a modern artist open to various forms of artwork but I agree with you 100%, especially when it comes to bloody awful conceptual art which is exalted by the powers of be at our Vancouver Art Gallery. Dreadful stuff.
