National Geographic Documentary: Year Million (Artificial Intelligence)

Islam Abou Shady

Given how rapidly technology and intelligence have advanced humankind in the past 10 years, one can’t help but wonder how different the world may be in another 10 years. National Geographic, however, is thinking big. The six-part docudrama “Year Million” paints a visual story of what it will be like to be a human 1 million years into the future. Narrated by Laurence Fishburne, the series features top futurists, scientists, scholars and notable science-fiction writers guiding viewers through the latest advances in technology, ideas and innovations and to an existence where we’re living beyond our bodies, beyond our planet and beyond our solar system. Illustrative, imaginative storytelling describes humanity’s fate through the lens of a typical futuristic American family, which includes an android daughter.

  1. In the robot future. As will want to create biological intelligence and then want to become them and recreate humans and put their aim conscience into them. Lol

  2. When Siri, Cortana and Alexa have avatar bodies in VR and AR. things will get interesting. (This is soon)
    When they can learn from questions asked to millions of people, at once, things will advance very, very rapidly. (This is sooner than you expect)

  3. Just think the migrants come to developed countries are AIs and they thought why I am paying hefty taxes , working smart or hard is same , still they use us unless the there next generation starts thinking like them and still that generation is under dat immortal system ……Brain is a part same on every human being and collecting all genius and dumb information robots are going to be same like we are may be they take their chip out and say bye bye system and f u humans

  4. There may be another way this could unfold. At some point it could be seen that it's the artificial body that is more important and perhaps the only improvement possible for human individuals. Children could develop their brains biologically and then those self aware conscious brains could be coupled with the body machines to create an individual. Like charging a battery and installing it in an appliance.

  5. Creating an artificial intelligence better than our own is going to be impossible. We don't really understand how the brain really works. That which we don't know we cannot build or simulate.

  6. even if ai robots are invented, then why woukd they want luxury, cars , space etc. because they cant reproduce. so they probably wont harm us. they will have limited population.

  7. that's bullshit national geographic if they have her brain copied, that means it's exactly their daughter, it's not "acting" their daughter, you are just too selfish to accept that you and your brain can be copy pasted like a porn file can… but think of it, does it matter which copy of the porn was first, are there any differences beetween and copied one and the first one, nope exactly the same, but you can't accept it can you, that you can be copied just like that,

  8. We want to build something and make it think like us, even knowing that our thinking is flawed. So, how is our thinking flawed? We are ego driven, we are conniving and vindictive. We like to find ways to control others, to abuse them. We are insecure that A.I. will eradicate us bc we know that we deserve it.
    We aren't afraid to die, we're afraid to change. Instead of changing to love everything, we keep trying to create something that will kill us off. We can't quit abusing each other and survive. We can't survive, without abusing each other.

  9. Artificial intelligence is being created for only one purpose: for a select few of humans to be able to control us. Artificial robots will patrol the streets and enact curfews put on us by the select few. They will be militarised robots, with the ability to run faster than humans, with night vision, x-ray vision and thermal vision combined.

  10. Bullshit ideas by semi intelligent apes. We will never make it anywhere near this level, unless some alien race intervenes, but we certainly won't make it there on our own. I'll be surprised if we make it to 2100.

  11. If robots take our jobs than what will be the point of humans? You can literally make robots that make robots and run the robots.

    Wall-E ?

  12. O.k.,…I have some constructive criticism for the first 10 to 15 seconds of this video. It shows a tiny supercomputer uploading a copy of that Girls mind instead of just bringing Her back to life again.That girl was NOT completely dead and with that level of technology, they should be able to bring People back to life as long as they are not completely dead. Death is a process. NOT an event that happens all at once!!! A vast majority of the cells in that Girl's body were still very much alive.

  13. Try for a moment to reject the mainstream media's conditioning of your thinking process for TWO MINUTES, Thats ALL I ask; Now;

    Have you ever wondered why in the World has technology stagnated to such a degree that we are still driving around in cars based on Technology invented in 1859, even though the giant leap between the first airplane and the first Jet Plane is only 36 years!?

    Why, after "going to the moon" in the 60s, do we STILL not have Moon Bases (its been 50 years)?

    Why did NASA DESTROY ALL moon-faring technology AND TELEMETRY after the Apollo missions?

    Why does NASA NEED to solve the Van Allen Belt Radiation shielding dilemma before sending humans to Mars, when the "moon-faring astronauts" apparently suffered ZERO side effects from the deadly Van Allen Radiation belt??

    Why is the Lunar Eclipse Shadow only 70 miles wide for a Moon that's over 2,000 miles across? How does the Moon "Focus" its own Shadow????? (Walk in front of a sun-drenched wall and see if you can Miniaturise your own shadow).

    Why were all the Astronauts so depressed at their first press conference after coming back from our "first visit" to the moon?

    Why did they not "remember" if they saw stars or not from the moon at that Press conference?

    Why does the earth look so small in the moon photos when its 4 times bigger than the moon?

    William Charles Kaysing who worked for Rocketdyne as the company's head of technical publications, from 1956 to 1963, presents a very interesting dilemma, and no matter how much the mainstream media belittles him, no one can answer his questions;

    ie; The moon lander had a 10,000 lb thrust rocket engine that miraculously didn't stirr up the moon sediment after it landed, proven by photos of the moon landers spotless landing pads and absence of a rocket exhaust crater; How did this miracle happen??

    ISS Astronaut Chris Hadfield said, speaking from the ISS; " the sky is almost white with the the light of the Universe, with the uncountable number of stars ". Other Astronauts said its totally black, so which is it?

    No one has been able to answer these questions that I can tell, and for even asking these questions people are treated Unfairly. The lunacy of the human race that refuses to think for itself for 2 minutes.

    Stephen Petranek said we were supposed to have a base on Mars by 1989.

    Christ is our LAST HOPE in this 21st Century Matrix we are living in.

  14. so the supreme leader and his henchmen live forever? it will be passed off like this but we all know after awhile mans inherit greed and lust for power will take over. and then the machines will take over.
