  1. Well done, enjoyable listen.
The big problem I have with this presentation is that Dr. Clark, and education theory, at all, generalizes too much, of course. My students are in such a safe environment they aren't aware of the competitive nature of business, which they are studying for. I believe there should be a mix of traditional academic, application-detached learning, and grass roots "This is what you're goint to walk into."

Successful education is a matter of connecting students with options and opportunities so they pursue many things and figure out among them what it is that they will pursue – until the next big thing opens up for them. Success is mapping techniques and content to outcomes, abilities, and expectations – even aspirations. I teach the same class to traditional day students, to Adult Learners, and to MBA students. They are 3 completely different scenarios. that is what got me interested in understanding the underpinnings of learning theory. I think it's worth studying teaching/learning but some obvious answers and techniques are sitting right in front of our noses. Learning is too complex for the generalizations in this presentation – but maybe Dr. Clark knows that and creates an entertaining environment where people pay attention, and maybe even learn/remember some of his content.

I notice he uses "kids" when speaking of higher ed students. I personally stay away from using that term – I do believe in the negative effect of negative reinforcement. I treat every student as a business person that has some holes of awareness, comprehension and skill that need to be filled.
Big things about online education, at least free online, is context and compartmentalization.
Good thing from Dr. Clark is to have some humor about the subject. Truly, the basis of learning is fun, which is different for different learners.

  2. Wow….Great Summary of Educationalists, Theoriests and Education Philosophers with a succinct rundown of their learning movements. I attended Online Educa Berlin 2015 as an Exhibitor for third time in a row 2013, 2014, 2015 …. I missed all the sessions, keynotes and other talking/speaking events due to being an Exhibitor for my company MLAKEDUSOLN ELEARNOVATE. Thank you for this video.
