Oil on the aperture blades in Nikkor Pre-Ai 50mm 1:2

There was not so much oil on the aperture blades in my old Nikkor Pre-Ai 50mm 1:2, but the aperture system and the aperture blade was on the way to be a little sticky.

It’s not that “hard” to open the aperture assembly, just REMEMBER to set small marks BEFORE DISASSEMBLE the aperture assembly, it will help you to put it all thing’s correct in again, so the aperture value is correct.

The aperture blades was put in in a little different way than other Nikkor lenses, that’s why I made some small errors, but I corrected them at the same time I found out what was wrong.

I use Isopropylalcohol 99% to clean the aperture system and the aperture blades.

And I also use my home made rubber tool to unscrew the narrow front ring on the focus ring.

Here are some link’s to different repair tool’s:

  1. I have been one of your early subscribers. I came across your video when I tried to fix my own lens.

I just want to say even though your videos don't get a lot of views, I hope you keep going to make those. They are really good and certainly show a lot of insight about the lens.

    🙂

  2. Hey dude, awesome stuff, you saved me many times. If you ever read this message, I could use some advice regarding a Contax Zeiss 135/2.8 AEG that I can't take the mount out. I got several screws out of the mount, and a piece of it, but the bulk of it remains and I need to reach the aperture. 🙂
