Good update!
Do you ever sleep? It's like you're a continuous-time model. I appreciate the consistency and good content, thanks!
im early lol
All of this tech will be funneled into the AI "companion" space which is the precursor to the "companion" robot space. Which is the precursor to the artificial human species. I'd say less than fifty years away biological humans living along side non biological humans hopefully in some sort of peaceful state hopefully.
Honestly, with all the recent advancements, it feels like we’re heading toward realistic simulated worlds that we can actually interact with – and it’s happening way faster than most people think. If Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) keep progressing, we might be looking at experiences almost like the Matrix in just the next 20 years (and yes, I pulled that timeframe out of my butt).
Where’s the haters
The question is what did OpenAI use to create the Continuos-time consistency models research.
bro please stop releasing new video every five minutes. don't generate hype🙏🙏
Just some unsolicited feedback, with so many videos every week, you kinda need more descriptive titles. Otherwise they all look the same and it gets repetitive , uninteresting, in my feed.
e.g. "OpenAI Research Speeds up Image Generation 50x"
Wondering if this will make glitches better or worse if its speeding to end
⏩ Summary ,
This video discusses OpenAI's new research on simplifying, stabilizing, and scaling continuous time consistency models (SCM). SCM is a new AI image generation method that is significantly faster than traditional diffusion models. It can generate high-quality images in just two steps, compared to the dozens or even hundreds of steps required by previous methods. This makes SCM suitable for real-time applications such as editing photos, applying video effects, and creating images for apps and games. The video also discusses the potential of combining SCM with Google's Genie, a generative interactive environment, to create real-time immersive experiences. This could lead to the development of instant interactive worlds, real-time video game creation, and augmented reality with nearly instantaneous virtual objects.
– Summarised by Gemini
If we can imagine unique and novel scenarios to sell for machine learning and human interactions then this will be less about designing game play or augmented reality for ourselves but instead for others. This is a really viable way to produce a new industry that has applied feasibility for individuals, cottage to independent teams or hyper large industry. This is where the future works and we can be rewarded and live meritocratic lives and increase both our individuality and have increased alignment with Artificial Intelligence.
Here goes Mr. "So" again…
Applying this to games is complete overkill – it's high-tech, but it's boring.
The first thing I'd do is add real time video editing to my TV, so that I could setup my own preferences. Similar to the rating system, except customized to my tastes. You could add or remove content as needed. Personally, I'd use it to eliminate the Left-wing propaganda that has infiltrated every aspect of TV. That's the main reason I don't watch TV or movies anymore. I watch to be entertained, not indoctrinated.
Wait, 512×512 pixels is high resolution?
Real time image gen in a game engine is going to be insane
the background music is distracting. There is (probably) a solution.
It should be a combination of getting it less loud and changing the music itself.
As I see it, try to mute it at first, and then add a little volume, just so there's no silence anymore.
Great content by the way.
One more thing. Try to use a compressor, it will smooth the velocity of the whole track, so there won't be any pop-up sounds.
Love these updates, thanks for taking the time to keep us informed with some of the fastest changing tech going. It has to be exhausting to do.
Please make a video on hyper-dimensional computing, which can reason, and explain it's reasoning, and is more energy efficient than an LLM; there was an article about it in Quant Magazine in 2023 (a website not an actual magazine). Thanks! can't post a link as YouTube won't let me 🙁
Didn’t SD turbo take a similar approach about a year ago?
Link to the work is incorrect in your blurb.

DETAILED SUMMARY:
Introduction to OpenAI's New Research (0:00)
OpenAI has introduced Simplified Continuous Time Consistency Models (SCM), a breakthrough in AI image generation that offers significantly faster processing times compared to traditional methods. This new approach can generate high-quality images in just two steps, marking a substantial improvement over existing technologies.
Traditional AI Image Generation vs SCM (0:44)
Traditional diffusion models work by:
– Starting with noisy images and cleaning them up over 100-500 steps
– Being computationally expensive and slow
SCM revolutionizes this by:
– Taking only two steps to create an image
– Being 50 times faster (generating images in 0.11 seconds)
– Using specialized hardware for optimal performance
Technical Breakdown of SCM (1:52)
Key specifications include:
– 1.5 billion parameters
– Capability to handle 512×512 pixel images
– Uses less than 10% of computational power compared to older models
– Maintains high quality despite increased speed
Example: "Instead of unscrambling a jumbled puzzle one piece at a time, SCM jumps directly from noise to the final image"
Real World Impact (2:53)
Applications include:
– Real-time image generation
– Instant photo editing
– Real-time video effects
– Quick image creation for apps and games
Google's Genie and Potential Combinations (3:30)
Genie's capabilities:
– Learns from 200,000+ hours of video data
– Creates interactive environments from simple prompts
– Works without labels or instructions
Potential SCM + Genie combination could enable:
– Instant interactive worlds
– Real-time video game creation
– Enhanced augmented reality experiences
Future Applications in AR and Gaming (5:50)
Examples shown include:
– AR filters transforming real-world environments
– Converting video games like GTA San Andreas into realistic footage using Runway
– Custom environments and characters in real-time
CONCLUSION – Actionable Advice:
1. Stay updated with AI image generation developments as they're evolving rapidly
2. Experiment with available tools like Runway's free plan
3. Consider potential applications in your field of work or interest
4. Prepare for real-time AR and VR applications
5. Learn about the technical aspects of these models to better understand their capabilities
6. Think about creative ways to combine different AI technologies
7. Keep an eye on OpenAI's research as they continue to advance the field
8. Consider the computational requirements when planning to implement these technologies
9. Start exploring current AR/VR tools to prepare for future developments
10. Stay aware of both the possibilities and limitations of these technologies
❤❤❤
This sounds familiar…
Ah, Two Minutes Paper made a vid on it 10 days ago with half the video length
I've been playing Diablo 4, and I am struck with how all the voice acting refers to you as 'the wanderer'. Cute. I get it, they cant program in voices to say my characters name, whether its a male or female, if its a warrior, mage, so on… But imagine if they could? Imagine if the NPC could comment on your armor, or they notice a technique you have, or if the game turns on your microphone, and you can yell at the npcs? LOL. That would make the game so much more personal and interesting. I cant imagine it will take long for the first mainstream games to come out with something like that in place. Imagine part of the game was you having to trying to convince an NPC to do something? That would make for some awkward eavesdropping in the house lol.
Whose on the flipside now. Bring it up! When you turn it down. Welcome to paradigm shift. It's time to defy some conventional logic.
2:05 1.5 billion si small, stable diffusion and flux are 8-12B
this reminds me of striking vipers from black mirror
This could completely change so many industries. Gaming, movies, adult fantasy, etc. Plus could open up new industries, such as virtual vacations.
The switch to Horror was actually just to reality!
One possible interesting use case for real time filters might be augmented reality for airsoft or paintball.
Along those lines I can imagine augment reality filters for theme parks like universial studios for example.
There is a lot of potential for intergration with existing forms of entertainment imo.
Not to mention the more personal use cases demonstrated in the vid.
I swear…if I hear someone say SCM one more time… 😂
It's so creazy how fast we have adopted to all these new possiblilities.
But isn't this the same tech that was made at the Beijing AI institute?
So its not OpenAI tech. Everyone has this now. It's just a matter of introducing it first in a model
