Dr Helen Mason explores what causes solar activity and what we are learning about the Sun from space observations in the ultraviolet and X-ray wavelength ranges.
The Sun goes through an 11 year cycle of activity. For the past few years it has been very quiet, but now it is becoming active again, with huge explosions and solar flares which shoot very hot material into space at extremely high speeds. This hot gas can hit the Earth’s atmosphere, and cause chaos with modern technology, knocking out satellites, affecting communications, even causing major electrical black-outs.
Scientists are currently observing the Sun from space with several different spacecraft: Hinode, Stereo, the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory and the Solar Dynamics Observatory.

Helen why do you all study Sun ? What is the hidden agenda behind it ? You should explain this to the public. We also wait for a press conference for us to hear about the truth
Do you now how susceptible your body is to a 2-5 degree rise of internal temperature let alone the effect that has on the bacteria you are symbiant with. The Earth as a whole may do just fine the creatures it is symbiant with on the other hand…..

One thing we all should notice about the sodium spectrum shown here is that it is extremely monochromatic. This is the reason why we can't perceive different colors under the light of a low-pressure sodium lamp.

The model of the sun and how it works was proven incorrect recently. Something to do with convection being too slow I think. The nuclear sun model dose not work.
well, if only 20% of humans survive, people no longer need to rape the ground for it's nutrients as much and can go back to natural agriculture

The idea that celestial objects are perfect, which Mr. inyourgenes mentions as Catholic Church bullshit, comes from the science of ancient Greece, and was the theory of scientists of Galileo's time. It was the belief of the Catholic hierachy only in the sense that they accepted the science of their time. Although it is always mentioned that the church objected to having the sun at the center of the universe, I don't recall any mention except here that there was some objection to the sun having imperfections on Christian theological grounds.
at 06:00, she got the dates of Isaac Newton wrong. He was born in 1642 , he didn't die in 1642!
The very last question…"What is the philosophy of the Sun?" I have a hypothesis on what that be, myself. Towards the end of it's life, the Sun will swell, engulf and consume the inner 3 planets, us being the third one,….well philosophically speaking, we could be the Sun's "BEDTIME" snack. In the interim we are "Veggies" it's garden and it is "tending" us in our growth until "Harvest" time.
Please GOD dont let them understand the Sun too!!? Please GOD Make the sun as Mesteries as Possible until these people are not at the top of the World. Every time they have learned something they have used it against Other Human Beings. 500 years of dark ages is not enough!!? If you dont believe me. She speaks about the sun and its fusion core as if this is fact but no one knows for sure ,its is an assumption and most probably turn out to be wrong

The Royal Institution is a highly respected place of higher learning and scientific achievement. So why in the hell is one of the advertising sponsors for this video Praeger Fucking University? They are a organization of lies, doing all they can to mislead the public with junk “science” to explain their religious bullshit and working to undermine legitimate, fact-based science.
