The man claims to bend spoons with his mind.Johnny Carson debunked Uri Gellar ,the most famous spoon bender.I don't dispute that everything we can know starts with consciousness but people who make these wild claims with no data to back it up only hurts the consciousness argument.

No one is raising the bar on anyone. It's like no one doubts the existence of electromagnetism because we have tons of scientific evidence and we also have practical applications such as the cell phone and Wi-Fi I'm using right now. if any of these Believers in ESP or psychic powers could show any sort of practical application or any sort of technical understanding of the phenomena that could be repeated and demonstrated repeatedly it would be a no-brainer to accept it. but the fact that they can and the fact that there's tons of evidence contrary to it physics is pretty strong evidence that it's just human imagination. I can't believe an intelligent person would really give some half-assed anecdote about a dream matching someone else's reality has any kind of proof
It's just incredible how seemingly intelligent people can so easily fool themselves. there's tons of evidence that people make up stories and all sorts of anecdotes after the fact. but there's very little evidence that people can really gain predictive power or any sort of practical applications for these alleged ESP powers. it's obvious from just looking at the history of humanity that people want to believe in magic powers and can concoct all sorts of wild stories and theories about it. but again there's tons of evidence that it's all just wishful thinking and Imagination Running Wild.
Again to any other opponents of psychic powers just show a practical application show some real-world ability that can be consistently demonstrated and that is Meaningful. if you can do this then of course you will have the scientific Community believe in its. the fact that you have as many people that do believe in it as there are is just proof of the incredible naivety of humanity. again no one doubts electromagnetism because not only is it proved by theoretical understanding and tons of convergent branches of science but it's also proved by real world application such as Wi-Fi cell phones and a billion other applications. this is what is Meaningful in the scientific World stuff that has tangible results.
And for one more time if people really had any sort of meaningful precognition how do you explain the fact that no one can go to Vegas and cleanup at roulette. and the reason I know they don't is because casinos have very good record-keeping about such stuff. and the fact that they're in business and making billions of dollars off the gullible is evidence that no one has these magic powers
Anyone on either side of this debate that claims they KNOW the answer to consciousness is probably wrong. There is nothing wrong with being wrong as long as you can admit that there is that possibility!
