18. I can relate so much to plato, my friends are all dumbasses who gets so sour when I Point out what they dont know

20. God save me from Philosophy. I'm a very simple man — I'm good with math and numbers. All of this philosophical thinking goes way over my damn head.

21. Beautifully presented. Without the light, we have no chance of realizing where we are, let alone making an effort to climb out.

22. What I think is missing from this is how the sun is supposed to represent absolute truth, the truth beyond the forms we see when leaving the cave. This absolute truth we can only glance at, use tools to observe, but if we look directly at it as we are blinded and harmed. We can always seek better ways to look at the sun, but we will never be able to look at it unassisted. Therefore we must look towards truth not with the goal of ever learning it and only with the intention of getting closer to it.
