EPISODE 25: PROPHETIC DREAMS- THE BIBLE, SCIENCE, & THE NATURE OF CONSCIOUSNESS (audio only podcast)

Many people report to having dreams that have accurately predicted the future or given them insights into situations they should have no natural knowledge of.

I’ve experienced many “prophetic dreams” over the course of my life, so this subject has always fascinated me.

In today’s episode we will explore:

– some of the biblical precedents for prophetic dreams throughout the Scriptures

– the science of dreaming, ranging from early psychological theories from Sigmund Freud & Carl Jung to the discoveries of more recent empirical scientific research

-Christian theories on the nature of consciousness and how this may help us understand prophetic dreaming

  1. Daniel 10:14
Now I am come to make thee understand […]

I will now give you the explanation of the dream of your son.

The apples are mankind. mankind was created without sin. The first two are Adam and Eve. By eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil they fell in sin. they were created very good in the image of God. But now by sin they became corrupt. Death in sin and transgressions. subject of the curse and doomed to die a bodily, and eternal death. these are the 3 spears. first we died a spiritual death. then we have to die a bodily death and third we have to die an eternal death in hellfire.

The fourth apple is the Lord Jesus Christ. Conceived from the Holy Ghost born from the virgin Mary.

    Mattheus 1:20
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

    Lukas 1:35
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Hebreeën 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Jesus Christ born without sin, lived without sin unto death.

    Filippenzen 2:6-11
    6. Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7. But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8. And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

We are apples from the family tree of wich sinful fallen Adam is the root.

    Job 14:4
Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.

    Psalmen 51:5
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

    Romeinen 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

We are all spiritually death in sins and transgressions. and we all die. but God provided in Jesus Christ The only way to escape eternal death and receive eternal life.

the vines point to the leaves that Adam and Eve used to cover their nakedness. something they were previously unaware off. it proves their sin that they indeed ate from the forbidden tree. It did not help them in front of God. Their own works could not cover their iniquity for God. but God covered their inuiqity with a sacrifice, the skin of an animal as a forshadow of the sacrifice of the promised Seed.

    Genesis 3:15
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Jesus fullfilled this promise by the sacrifice of His blood dying on the cross.

    Hebreeën 10:12-17
    12. But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13. From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 14. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. 15. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, 16. This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17. And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

What is needed for us is to be cut of from our natural root Adam and be planted into the last Adam the Lord Jesus christ as a branch in the vine.

    Johannes 15:1-7
    1. I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

We need conversion in our life before it is too late and the we are pierced with the second and third spears of Gods righteous wrath. We need to be born again. We need justification and sanctification. we need to be saved as a lost sheep by the Good Sheperd.

    1 Petrus 1:18-25
    18. Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19. But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20. Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21. Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. 22. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 23. Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 24. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25. But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

    Romeinen 9:14-16
    14. What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15. For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

last word you can have many riches. lots of joy. many talents. even spiritual gifts. but if you are not covered with the blood and righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ and die in your sins. you will not enter the kingdom of God.

    Prediker 11:9-12:1
    9. Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. 10. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity. 12:1. Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

    Mattheus 7:7-11
    7. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10. Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

    amen.
