Multinational companies in China often suffer from an ‘us and them’ attitude, where local and expatriate staff separate both in the workplace and socially. To build synergy in an organisation, it’s important to bring both camps together. However, this is near impossible if members are unaware of their inability to foster relationships.
In this video, Andy Clark discusses a strategy to forge better cross-cultural teams, all beginning with self awareness.
Andy Clark is the co-founder of ClarkMorgan Corporate Training and the author of ‘The World is Yours’, a guide for Chinese employees to excel in a multinational company environment, and an insight into Chinese culture for expatriates.

Very interesting. Is there any other activities you suggest that the local and expats can do besides badminton, Mah-john, football?
BTW, I like the background a lot! like your camcorder's lens effect. however, Andy, you seemed a little chilled in the wind.
@billyqiuyh It was a very cold night – seems it slowed down my speech considerably! There are many activities that locals and expats can both enjoy: Board games such as Cranium and Pictionary, Simulations like Bafa' Bafa' or Crisis, Teambuilding activities like Art-jamming and Goal Coaching. Really any sport is good as long as there is a social element afterwards (with food and drinks if possible). For more business focus have a "best practice sharing" lunch is a good discussion generator.
