  1. Well, this was great, but at least as far as I'm concerned it sort of "broke down" around 45 minutes. I just "lost the thread," and it seemed to become disorganized.

  2. GUYS… As much as I like Dr. Penrose, we need to see the SLIDES that he's referring to as he speaks, rather than having a tight shot on him. I would have thought that would be obvious to someone preparing a video like this, but evidently not. Also, that distant shot from behind the audience is really not nearly as useful as the shots that are filled by Penrose and his slide.

  3. A single static charge is Q.G..to avoid its own collapse it has to exist as a kinetic energy eternal “ER-ER” bride. This avoids singularity & infinity Static charge is its own C.P. inverse. A 3-sphere.(Spinor)Geodesic 90Gly. The speed of light is Path of least action between these symmetries.(between 2 stereographic projection(cos^2) Ep = static charge. Solve the static charge problem in G.R..This is why we see so much duality ,we are causality of duality.

  4. Big Bang is not beginning of the universe. Cosmic inflection is not proved but it is conceivably.

Universe has a beginning and an end indeed. Almighty Allah originated the universe and He will rolled up it.

    END OF THE UNIVERSE
    PROMISE OG ALMIGHTY ALLAH

THE HUMAN HISTORY HAS COME NEAR TO AN END
    Almighty Allah Says:

" The day We shall roll up the heaven as a recorder rolleth up for books. As We began the first creation, We shall repeat It.It is a promise binding upon Us. Lo! truly We shall do it.
    (Qur'an,21:104)

The heaven will be folded up like a scroll of parchment, for it will have done its work.If Allah created all this world out of nothing.
He can create an entirely new heaven and a new earth, on a plane of which we can form no conception in our present life.

And He will do so, for that is His promise.
Many ways of end are described by the scientists. One of them is the theory of Big Crunch.

The ultimate fate of the universe, in which the expansion of the universe eventually reverses and the universe recollapses, ultimately causing the cosmic destruction.
    Think about your broader interests
    in the life of Hereafter

    With best wishes.
Almighty Allah Bless all of us.

  5. When meditating deeply and when I'm able to do it while I'm out in stores, I have had the perception and concept of ideas or visual feelings come in like that of a twister and you can look in the eye of the twister and see some everyday thoughts coming in.

  6. A perfect lecture on this subject would have Penrose explaining about 1/2 of the time and a traditional teacher filling in the prerequisite gaps the other 1/2 of the time. You would look forward to the Penrose parts which are the most interesting while the other teacher gives you the background you need to really understand them.

  7. Interesting that Penrose uses geometric ideas in his explanations. Those methods of expressing math have really gone out of fashion. It's very reminiscent of 17/18th century (pre-algebra) math. It shows how things have changed since he learned this stuff, probably at school in the 1950's. I was taught a bit of it, largely forgotten and almost never used in the last 50 years.

  8. But isn' t it that at the speed of light time stands still so for the information no time passes by travelling from one particle to the other and there is also length contraction.
I' m not sure how much the length contracts at the speed of light but if length contracted to zero then you had an other argument for information exchange that doesn' t violate the rules.
    Correct me who knows better.

  9. Teacher: I'mma teach ya' ll fools why when observing every star in the night sky it formes a Riemann Sphere.
Student: It' s so simple it' s just devision in Wessel's plane, as Z approaches your knowledge which is zero, the twistor goes to infinity which is inscribed in a Riemann' s sphere.

  10. Use ECOSIA as your search engine. It plants tropical trees as your search the internet, to stop climate change. Help it get to 1000,000,000 trees as soon as possible. Put is APP on your mobile, or make it default on your computer

  11. This is his clearest most accessible exposition of twistors I've found so far, I've watched a few and really struggled. Sir Roger is usually addressing an audience who have the maths, or he's assuming we do. Half a dozen in and I'm beginning to build up a picture of what a Riemann Sphere might be and why it is what it is. Having to restrict his attempted explanation doesn't temper his excitement. I learned a lot about twistors and much I didn't know about non-locality.

He got so excited about the impossible triangle as an example of 1st order cohomology and laments the possibility of something similar for the 2nd order. I'd like to think he might collaborate with a mathematically minded graphic artist/animator. He does like faffing around with all his drawings and projectors and I suppose it gives him something to do with his hands but…

Thinking Feynman's Lost Lecture (ft. 3Blue1Brown) or the like, complex ideas rendered in detailed clarity, though Feynman was a superb communicator to begin with. I'd love to get a real intuition of twistor theory if it were possible without a degree in advanced mathematics. After fifty years it ought to be.

  12. Here I am, thousands of miles away, getting an education that would fly right over the head of any teacher around me…
But yeah sure traditional education is fine keep throwing our kids in there 😉

  13. Pythagoras rightly said everything in the universe are 'numbers', Penrose's twisters display it graphically. So does stereo graphic projection of Reiman.

  14. I think his basic explanation of complex numbers is very poor. The complex operator "j" (or i) is simply a rotation operator. +j rotates in a clockwise direction, the conjugate -j rotates in the anticlockwise direction. Hence in a complex space, its just the direction of the curvature (twist ?) that is given by the conjugate. Non locality is not explained very well. Entanglement, hidden variables ? Nobody has explained it – they just sweep it under the carpet. Never mind the logical combinatorial rules. There is something wrong with QM. If you throw "time" away, then things start to make sense. Instantaneous connections are then possible. Nothing hidden. No EPR paradox. Space-time on the grand scale. Zero time on the microscale. But where is the crossover ?? This is the crux of the matter, and shows that QM and GR are both missing something and can never be reconciled.

  15. I study Quantum mechanics and I felt that all the parts of the talk I already knew were obvious and boring, no new way of looking at things, and so on. But parts I didn't were more or less impenetrable. E. Weinstein, talking about his book, I think, put it the best way: "..It is for no-one.. "

  16. Let's not forget Prof Ed Witten…the world's most celebrated and cited Mathematical Physicist..the only Physicist in History to win a Fields Medal.. astounding achievement!
