Royal Institution Christmas Lectures 2010 (11 of 11)

tamassinty

why size matters in animal behaviour?

How can a hamster survive falling from the top of a skyscraper, ants carry over 100 times their own body weight and geckos climb across the ceiling?
In the first of this year’s Christmas lectures, Dr Mark Miodownik investigates . He reveals how the science of materials – the stuff from which everything is made – can explain some of the most extraordinary and surprising feats in the animal kingdom.
By the end, you will understand why you will never see an elephant dance.

  1. ***** The end of this lecture is missing ***** please could you upload the missing part?

I went to try and find it on iPlayer to watch the end but they only have the last 7 days of TV up so i've missed it on iPlayer… and my mum mistakingly interrupted my Sky+ recording of it… anyway, thanks for uploading these! And PM me if you upload the last part of the lecture. Alex.

  2. WHAT THE FUCK! There are minutes and minutes, huge portions of the lecture missing, and then you get to this video…which has minutes of the LAST PART IN IT! so we miss out on a shit ton (a metric shit ton…none of that imperial unit short ton bullshit), and now you fucking post part of this section twice?!?!?! why agree you so confused? you do realize that there's a WHOLE INDUSTRY of software dedicated to splitting larger video files into small ones, making large videos out of small ones, and

  3. then editing them. There are even programs that SENSE WHERE THE BES PLACES TO SPLIT ARE! That way you don't have to lose half the content, lose some parts, and add extra parts in for no reason! Cmon mate, my grandma can do better. Don't even get me started on the audio. YouTube offers unlimited video uploading, and has for a while. you're not making money off this channel…so why split it up!

  4. even if you downloaded the video, or captured it, your level of knowledge guarantees you know that this is a fucking hack job, and guarantees you know how to use Google, to find a program that will do 100 times better, faster, and for free! a channel that provided this program without making me pissed? Now that's a channel I'd subscribe to, leave a comment worth my time on, and give a like to. this bs? I might as well start flagging them.
