How could Harry and Meghan realistically become the saviours of the monarchy when they have repeatedly spoken publicly against both it and the RF? Harry has even taken legal action against the British government. None of this has gone unnoticed by the British public or by the wider world. Meghan has reportedly said that she does not intend to return to the UK. Neither of them, including Harry, has any experience of running the British state or its constitutional institutions. Harry has also spoken at length about how unhappy and constrained he felt within the institution. If that was his experience, it is difficult to understand how he could now be expected to become its saviour. Both Harry and Meghan have said that they enjoy the freedom they now have to speak and act without the constitutional restrictions that apply to working members of the Royal Family. A return to Britain as working royals would mean the immediate loss of much of that freedom.
They could not comment on social policy, political issues, international crises, elections, legislation, government policies or many of the public debates in which they currently choose to participate. They would also be expected to maintain strict political neutrality, avoid commercial ventures, refrain from using their royal status for private business purposes, and accept the collective responsibility that comes with representing the Crown rather than themselves. In many respects, they would be required to give up much of what they have achieved since stepping away from royal duties.
The Monarchy “brand,” is covered in muck, filth, and scandal and corruptions.

H&M make me smile. They are so joyous and sincere — that's why people connect with them. I love them, and I am not British. They are the wild card in the monarchic mix. Yes, the eviction from Frogmore Cottage was a missed opportunity to build bridges. It was petty. I do not believe the couple will ever again live in the UK. Of course, the absence of H&M has left a gap: one of authenticity.
The British monarchy did end for a time (1649 and 1660, Oliver Cromwell), and it can happen again. It is currently a huge corrupt web of grift on the taxpayers and the commonwealth.
This battered Royal Institution is arrogant and made up of arrogant human Beings. They overestimated themselves.
