ExcEL Leadership Academy is a national model. A program created and based on the best practices for serving English language learners.
The United States of America is a country built by folks who are from other countries; many of whom are people whose first language is something other than English. Project ExcEL is part of a community effort made up of partner organizations helping families and children obtain the American dream. We have formulated a multi-year program aimed at creating expanded and personalized learning opportunities for students K through 12 who do not speak English as their first language. In ExcEL communities, nonprofit organizations, community colleges, faith-based groups, arts and media centers, libraries, and schools are all working together to help students learning English, as well as their families in acquiring the critical English skills needed for family success.
