The Srinagar Smart City project is making significant progress in redevelopment efforts across tourist areas, including Residency Road, MA Road, Jhelum riverfront, and interconnections like Polo View, Regal, Jehangir Chowk, and Tsoenth Kul. Despite facing challenging weather conditions, work is in full swing and on track to meet deadlines. The project, with a budget of Rs 1000 crore, includes IT-related interventions, improving urban mobility, upgrading public transport facilities, building cycle tracks, laying jogger’s paths, and restoring old canals. The transformation is drawing tourists, boosting the local economy, and bringing lost jobs back, creating a peaceful and modern Srinagar.
