In release 4.0, we advanced Spot’s locomotion abilities thanks to the power of reinforcement learning. Paul Domanico, Robotics Engineer at Boston Dynamics talks through how Spot’s hybrid approach of combining reinforcement learning with model predictive control creates an even more stable robot in the most antagonistic environments.

  1. 4:50 – amazing. I like how the folks in the background light up with joy. We only see highlight reels of the pretty stuff and I know there will be blood sweat and tears put into this, but even still, looks like a dream job.

  2. 03:18 on the left: me on beer. just kidding. no beer needed. it would accelerate result tho. i hope someday i can ride home on one of these dudes – when got stuck in a bar. cheerz from germany

  3. Make a press release about your use of "AI" without saying "AI" so our idiot investors are happy but we don't look like twats.

  4. The problem is the design. You got the AI and learning down pat.
You should focus on the design of "Spot", make its legs more anatomically correct (paws)

  5. Is it at the point where anyone, anywhere in the Boston dynamics factory and office's that someone could order a canned drink and have it brought to them without any human intervention?
