Boston Dynamics
As one of the world’s largest third-party logistics (3PL) providers, Arvato considers engineering and automation part of its DNA. At a facility in Louisville, Kentucky, Arvato provides supply chain management, warehousing, and fulfillment services for B2B and B2C clients moving moving tons of inventory.
When Arvato’s Louisville staff wanted a robotics system that could unload freight with greater speed and safety, Boston Dynamics’ Stretch robot stood out. Stretch is a first of its kind mobile robot designed specifically to unload boxes from trailers and shipping containers, freeing up employees to focus on more meaningful tasks in the warehouse. Arvato acquired its first Stretch system this year and the robot’s impact was immediate.

If used right robots may reduce back breaking medical conditions in any work with heavy loads, means a lot more will have good backs when older
Why not say it, it is replacing the workforce and THIS IS GOOD. We will figure it out.
What's with the music? We don't need any music to be played while folks are talking.
Waiting for the halloween trick or treat version where Stretch hands out candy in bulk to the kiddos!
Great to see another possible (and practical) use for the technology that Atlas demonstrates. Humanoid type robotics likely have a place, but there are many more far reaching applications that can make a more widespread impact by other types like Stretch.
I permanently injured my back doing unloading while working graveyard freight crew. I injured it because our management always said we weren’t going fast enough, which led to improper lifting, twisting, and placing down of boxes.
So how will companies sell any products when the majority of people have no jobs ??
Yeah but is there a robot that can pick up the snaggle of boxes that explodes in the lot when it opens the doors of a poorly loaded trailer?
Humans are obsolete.
1:49 if that's not a lie i need to relearn what the word means
The reality is that soon an identical robot will be packing the boxes into the container and the unloading robot will have the loading data from the loading robot for even faster operations,
Also in this scenario where the boxes are packed by a robot the packaging will be perfect.
Я бы очень хотел работать на этом компании! ❤
Now they also need a standard box that can hold all the force thru one of the sides. Since the suction cups act in only one plane. It is also slower that humans…. I don't know it look worse for now
what are meaningful warehouse tasks?
sitting at home is much more ergonomic than having a job unloading a truck…
Is this an application in real life??? It looks so made up.😅
Heavy lifting robot very good 😊.
The box it's empty?
I've done this kind of warehouse work before, it's miserable. I love seeing this type of job being automated now.
Yet, if we connected with BD to buy one to start testing it for big companies, we got no human interactions with e-mails and no price. Just promo and nothing! With such approach – to deny big growing possibilities, your company is bound to doom.
I love how they always repeat "It's not meant to replace our workers" … yeah, sure 🙂
thing is way to slow and i bet it cant unload a truck that has had its insides thrown all over the place.
