Terence Mckenna – Have God Your Way

Terence McKenna spoke and wrote about psychedelic drugs, plant-based entheogens, shamanism, metaphysics, alchemy, language, culture, technology, and the theoretical origins of human consciousness.

McKenna said that one of his early psychedelic experiences with morning glory seeds showed him “that there was something there worth pursuing”, and in interviews he claimed to have smoked cannabis daily since his teens.

After the partial completion of his studies, and his mother’s death from cancer in 1971, McKenna, his brother Dennis, and 3 friends traveled to the Colombian Amazon in search of a plant preparation containing dimethyltryptamine (DMT). They found various forms of ayahuasca, or yagé, and fields full of gigantic Psilocybe cubensis mushrooms, which became the focus of the expedition.

Terence McKenna advocated the exploration of altered states of mind via the ingestion of naturally occurring psychedelic substances. During McKenna’s studies, he developed a technique for cultivating psilocybin mushrooms with Dennis and in 1976, the brothers published what they had learned in a book entitled Psilocybin: Magic Mushroom Grower’s Guide. In the early 1980s, McKenna began to speak publicly on the topic of psychedelic drugs.

McKenna soon became a fixture of popular counterculture with Timothy Leary once introducing him as “one of the five or six most important people on the planet.” McKenna spoke on a wide array of subjects including; shamanism; metaphysics; alchemy; language; culture; self-empowerment; techno-paganism; artificial intelligence; evolution; extraterrestrials; science and scientism; the web; virtual reality and aesthetic theory or art/visual experience as information.

In mid-1999, after a long lecturing tour, McKenna returned to his home on the Big Island of Hawaii. A longtime sufferer of migraines, McKenna had begun to have increasingly painful headaches. His condition culminated in three brain seizures in one night, which he claimed were the most powerful psychedelic experiences he had ever known. McKenna was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, a highly aggressive form of brain cancer. McKenna died on April 3, 2000, at the age of 53.

  1. I love Terence McKenna but I have to say that life does not violate The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics the only way that it would violate The 2nd Law is if life were occurring in a closed system when in fact it is not. The 2nd law states that the entropy (disorder/chaos) of an isolated/closed system will never decrease and will increase whenever possible and life does not occur in a closed system the earth is not a closed system it has lots of outside influence from the sun and even other things.

If only he knew about Cannabis Oil. I've known 3 people personally whom had terminal cancer. 2 did Chemo, light therapy and various alternatives.

The only one that survived the cancer had skipped Chemo and went straight to Cannabis Oil. All the medical records from the doctors were obviously kept and later this saved him as he got raided and had to spend 10 months in prison waiting for the court to deal with him; and when they did all the charges were dropped and he left prison. (So he just spent 10 months without his family while waiting for the court to deal with him – this wasn't even the actual punishment which normally ranges between 1~3 years (and up to 10~25) depending on the corruption you have to deal with)

Pros: Cured of Cancer in 8 weeks via Cannabis Oil (mostly THC and some CBD)

Cons: Illegal in many corrupt places. BigOil owns BigPharma and they own the Politicians and police. Prison is a likely result depending on how vocal the person is about their experience.

People whom are interested in this should research the biochemist: "Dennis Hill" whom used average quality cannabis and butter to treat most of his cancer and finally got some good cannabis oil which made him free from cancer.

Now days there is strains of Cannabis like: CBD crew: CBD Therapy – this has only 0.5% THC and 10% CBD but it is very good for clamping the mind within a non-psychotic range (perhaps can be likened to clamping sound waves within a range). THC is the cancer killer (induces a logic check which leads to Apoptosis / programmed cell death) but CBD inhibits the cancers also. So there is a synergy, they work together but a mostly THC oil is the most effective and some CBD is more effective than none.

Terence often mentions Cannabis as the safety option – which is true – however too much THC can induce the same effects as having too many psychedelics (vomitting, paranoia about personal health, extreme discomfort due to extreme data from the inner-eye). So I think THC is good to get out of a depression however CBD is the best for dealing with things like high levels of Psilocybin or THC where people might feel like they are trapped in some world they want to escape from.

  3. A "creode" is a developmental pathway. Neat. Tunneling through the epistemological murk … A symmetry break. Wow. Things are SO interesting. Chaos is now an orderly disorderly process.
