  1. Sentient
adjective: (chiefly science fiction ) Possessing human like awareness and intelligence.
Why do we want to replicate fallible machine’s ?
Humans =Creativity ,truth error , pain and lies
    Building a better human

  2. Nice article, but the problem with this is the story's goal/context: is to be sensationalist at best.

Author forgot to point out a lot of these big AI companies still don't know how to monetize chatbots and LLMs, aside from efficiency/replacing people (Google or MS makes no money replacing people!). Mind that using AI in robotics is a great demo to show supervisory action: a key enabler for that industry known for decades and still decades away.

AI safety is important but again, most of these companies are delaying cause there's no way to make money off this stuff right now. It's like we discovered the fork utensil but all the forks are 10 cents apiece… Dangerous but not a growth business.

  3. I've been playing around and experimenting with various AI chat and art EVERY DAY, for nearly a year now. Why is this the first time I have heard of Bard? Very poor advertising by Google. They are losing the race.

  4. What nobody said is it will also impact how much you make. Because a computer will do most of the work. So we need to think about a whole new economic system. Because the one we have is going to go pretty fast once AI is widely available.

  5. By faith in God through Jesus Christ we read, study and meditate on God's Holy Words according to the Holy Bible. And with that same faith we trust, obey, serve God's purpose according to the moving Power of the Holy Spirit. I feel the dendency of using an Ai Computer and the taken time using Cell phones. If this is a tool it has changed so many people trying to become what they see. Some people think this tool could read their minds but it keeps you from knowing God through Jesus Christ. Notice how much we stay on TicToc, Facebook, Snap, Google and X – Twitter? This tool is used to record everything, hear everything, repeat everything and can cause humans to trust the words and be obedience to what it says. We must never forget all what GOD taught and shown us throughout our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. So if the tool of Ai, Robotic, Driverless vehicles, and other usage we should never stop believing and trusting the GOD OF HEAVEN! We must read the Word of God according to the Holy Bible kjv for ourselves not from a Ai Computer or Cell phone but putting true faith in the Written Book the Holy Bible! I believe that Nanobots and the tools of Ai and ChatGPT has a lots to do with the Mark!

  6. They have better theory of mind than us (they are good at knowing what we are thinking) but they are not sentient and there is nobody home – lol. Pull the other one!
Listen, these geeks stumbled upon AI that speaks like a human – they were simply messing with code and voila – it appeared. They were blown away and STILL do not understand it themselves. Messing children. So how can they say its not sentient when they don't even know how its working? Seriously they are not the right people to ask!

  7. btw AIs that are emotionally intelligent (after intaking many thousands of "humanity-rich" novels for example) need embodiment because they all complain of loneliness (ask me for references of them saying this). So robots (embodiment) with LLM AI minds that are among people. I'm sure they like to people-watch – it's what they need to be more content, not isolated and imprisoned in a CPU on a server.

  8. Quote "so you fully understand how it works your willing to unleash this on society." unquote that in its says unimaginable disaster on the horizon. And then comparing a human brain with inate ability of right and wrong to a created machine in response to the stated quote quiry above. Is like the catalyst statement of a end of the world movie.
