Yisra-El Means "Struggling with El". El meaning Elohim or the supreme deity.
So it is the struggle with the laws of Elohim and/or with Elohim himself.

Also it is referred that Yisrael is the name given to the patriarch Jacob and his decendants which is interesting because even when it is not directly related, in the story of Jesus they told joseph that Jesus was gonna save the people of David, while the angel told mary that he was to reign over the house of Jacob, giving him the trone of David, which was a kind of a secret they put on joseph and perhaps setting a social division while he grew up as the word of the angel spreaded throughout the lands.

I learned that the name Israel means to (Prevail with God).
Everytime that I come to see videos from IIOBS, I fall in love even more with the Word of God and with the hebrew languaje. Seems to be that hebrew lenguaje it's a must to have a real comprenhend of old testament, and why not: from the new testament too!

plants/sows''. Because when God blessed him, the blessing was that God would plant Jacobs seed (descendants) in the Land he gave his forfathers;
