The Discovery & Restoration of Leonardo da Vinci's Long-Lost Painting "Salvator Mundi" | Robb Report

Robb Report

Leonardo da Vinci is one of history’s greatest artists and thinkers. Only about 15 of his paintings are known to exist and one was thought to be lost forever. Leonard painted that masterpiece, called “Salvator Mundi” (Savior of the World) around 1500. It was owned by no less than three kings and, in 1763, it disappeared. This video tells the story of that incredible painting, how it was rediscovered in 2005, and what happened when it went to auction at Christie’s in November 2017.

  1. I just love how they show that old coot bawling in front of the painting, and then they reveal the painting: a prepubescent stoner with blonde, curly Herbal Essence princess hair (because Middle East people are known for their fair hair and porcelain skin tone). This isn't Jesus, it's Jeff, manager in an EB Games during week days and one of the best Holymancer in his larping guild the rest of the time.

  2. Workshop of Leonardo, at best. The Saudi's have been sold a dud, and I think they know it, hence it not being displayed.

Also, I really don't like the restorer. I think she overworked it, and the way she talks about it churns my stomach.

  4. Within the last year, there was a documentary made about this painting. I forget the title but the impression I received, from the movie trailer, is that this painting may not be a Leonardo. Hmmmm

  5. You know what, id let anyone kill me if that stupid painting of a dikhead was done by great mind like Leonardo da Vinci. He was a scientific oriented man, a rationlist in a way… no way he would spennnt his lifetime creating a paiting of a dikhead

  6. I HATE that some rich cunt from Saudi Arabia purchased it… I don't see any of those people truly respecting art in general.
