Could it be that all the electrons in the universe are simply one, single electron moving back and forth through time?

In the spring of 1940, the great physicist John Archibald Wheeler had a flash of insight. He picked up the phone and called Richard Feynman. The fateful conversation began, “Feynman, I know why all electrons have the same charge and the same mass.” “Why?” asked Wheeler’s former graduate student. “Because, they are all the same electron!” Wheeler went on to describe the One-Electron Universe idea: that there exists only one electron, and that electron traverses time in both directions. It bounces in time, eventually traversing the entire past and future history of the universe in both directions, and interacting with itself countless times on each pass. In this way it fills the universe with the appearance of countless electrons. And when the electron is moving backwards in time it is a positron; the antimatter counterpart of the electron.

  1. So, in the last video I watched by PBS Space Time, among other things, you assumed 1 field exists everywhere in space for each kind of elementary particle, and a fluctuation in a position in space can make any of those particles appear in that position.  And in this video you are assuming only 1 electron might exist?  Is it possible your physicists need lessons on how to distinguish between ridiculously physically illogical assumptions and rigorously physically logical 1s, so you can avoid the embarrassing self-contradicting make believe?

My unifying fundamental physics theory, matter theory, explains 23 fundamental physics observables the standard model can not explain.  Matter theory will easily replace all 6 current professionally used fundamental physics theories.  And using matter theory, you will understand exactly what is physically illogical in each of those 6  theories.  History will remember physicists of this era as being in 1 out of 2 groups:  those in the last generation of physicists clinging to 6 contradicting fundamental theories, most of which are ridiculously physically illogical, and those in the 1st generation of physicists using only 1 necessary and sufficient rigorously physically and mathematically logical unifying theory, matter theory.  Which group do your physicists want to be in?  I am seeking funding, and I am offering a monetary reward to the person who 1st introduces me to my eventual funder.  Search keywords:  matter theory marostica.

  2. I think this is the nature of all reality. There is only one fundamental function that everything else repeats on and recombined from. In my hypothesis it is an issue of the struggle between non-existence and existence, giving rise through time and space folding and chaotic recombination which gives form to everything else. Everything is the same thing, down to the most basic fabric of all reality.

  4. What says once theyve left our plane that they arent free to re-traverse it from any direction they want? Isnt that applying 3d concepts within the 4th?

  5. Newton: Why can’t these 21st century humans make great leap forward in our understanding of PHYSICS?
Einstein: Because they take STUDIP ideas very seriously.

  6. 10dimensional electron. i like.
(because it's the same electron through all of the alternate universes, travelling not only back and forth in time, but also upwards, downwards, and sideways, in it.
bouncing around in the room of possibility space, bouncing off its walls of boundary conditions for all of the possible existences ever…)

  7. Also I wonder if can use the winding rivers
    Through time line
    Different spots
    To measure events
    Or predict future events
    Or Find/prove past events

    Like say polar magnetic shift/changes
    And / Or
Past Ice Ages (lengths of time )
    Future Ice Ages (if any)

  8. I wonder if going forward in time they absord/(and/or) eminate different energies then when going backward….I imagine it innately adapts to traveling either way..or any direction.. in space time….as it deposited evidence in 3 location along the same time…..they are in different locations…and then it move back in its direction……
There may be differentials in the location in the time…as the direction changed….
I'd also imagine they are intangible….lol

  9. I must be some kind of genius. Using only thought experiments, I deducted, at a young age (between the ages of 12 and 18, things like the Hubble Sphere, the space grows from within, Plack time and length, and I had also considered that this entire universe consists of a single particle traveling through space and funky directions in time. Then as an adult, i see that these theories have been considered before and it's very satisfying to know that my thoughts are valid.

Now, I can't wait for someone to say that the Big Bang also created time going in every direction. So, the Big Bang also created, relative to us, 14 billion years BEFORE the Big Bang. Though to an entity on that side of time, WE are the ones experiencing the time created by the Big Bang before the Big Bang. Everyone seems to be moving forward, but relatively, we are not going in the same direction. And time doesn't have to be one dimensional or even two. It can 3 or even 4 or who knows. Time is a sphere going outward from the Big Bang just like space. We are just forced to travel in only one direction.

If you travel at the speed of light in ANY direction, time stands still for you, right? So that means that every particle you encounter along your journey will appear to you at the the same time. Right now. So may all those particles that now appear right next to each other take on the appearance of a totally other physical Universe?

  10. If in time there is no past or future it is all now it's all happening now future and past then an electron is everywhere all at once . It's not one moving around it is one everywhere at once.

  11. I invented this theory BEFORE I heard about it…and this is where I found it when I looked it up🤣…
I thought, if particles travel at the speed of light, time stops for it due to time dilation. From the perspective of the particle it would have physically reached its destination instantaneously, while also somehow failing to reach its destination ever. Leading me to believe that a wave function is just a variable for the infinite amount of time it actually takes the physical photon to reach its destination. If the photon leaves the laser it's time stops and gets infinitely fast simultaneously as a rule of infinity. Our mental existence lies within electrical pathways in the brain. Giveing us only a glimpse of the starting point and end point…meanwhile there is an infinite amount of time at the speed of light between the receptical and the laser. Even if it's only an inch wide..the infinite time it takes for the photon to physically reach its destination would be shrouded because as observers we would of caurse only be able to see it when an object impedes its speed. Also this paradox allows for an infinite number of electrons to be propagated in an instant, whilst never propagating at all in reality because in the initial timeline the electron is still at the starting point for an infinite amount of time, I think everything in reality is the result of a wave form duality between the time line where the electron arrived and propagated infinitely, and the timeline where it's still a single electron. The result would be a forced existence everywjere between those 2 points, everywhere there is interaction with itself. Each physical electron would be in it's own timeline, this universe would be the result of an electrons interaction with a singularity.

  12. questions:isn't C the speed of light? Don't electrons emit light? Aren't electrons and light particles both quantum particles? or quantum fields?

  13. I think that this one electron universe theory explains entanglement quite well!
since an electron travelling forward in time will have a spin opposite to itself traveling backwards in time (positron) thus the information appears to be shared instantaneously as in the end its the same electron. That's why Einstein's theory of relativity is preserved as there isn't any information shared faster than the speed of light and the act of making two entangled electrons is by deflecting it in the other direction forming a zigzag shape in space time. "These are just personal thoughts"

  14. I am absolutely loving this series of videos. Most physics videos seem afraid of touching difficult topics, or they go too far in simplifying things. But you keep just the right amount of balance between accuracy and simplicity. Thank you for making them!

  15. I like to imagine the electron getting to the end of time, panting as it tries to catch its breath for a few seconds, then chugs a Gatorade super fast before turning around and bolting off the way it came 🙂
