The Terrifying Quantum Entanglement Theory That Breaks Reality

Aperture

What if the most basic assumptions about reality, that objects are separate, and distance is real… are completely wrong? For centuries, classical physics described a predictable, local universe where nothing influenced anything faster than light. Then, quantum entanglement arrived, breaking our entire assumption of reality and terrifying even the most brilliant minds, including Albert Einstein.

  1. I want to watch this but 30 minutes is a heavy investment when the title is so misleading. When you use Theory do you mean hypothesis? Also if this "Reality Breaking" thing exists, then we are already living in a broken reality. Or is this a hypothesis about how QE could break reality somehow?

  2. I am stupid but not completely, the question is not who is smart and who is stupid, everyone is stupid, the question is how completely stupid are you? Are you 99.9% stupid? Are 9.99% stupid?

  3. Human experience only supports the perception of localism within specific modes of consciousness. This is something I don’t hear many people address. Within the mode of language based thought and consciousness, bound by that format the perception of localism reigns. However, when you remove the language based rational mind mode of perception and instead view reality through non-language/ non-rational thought forms of experience the perception of localism collapses. I would love to hear some smarter people than myself talk about this phenomena.

  4. Each discovery is more humbling than the last. We did not create existence or the cosmos. They were already there. To demand absolute comprehension is the equivalent of demanding a dog to understand the complexity of the English language.

  5. ~20min30 "WHY REALITY DOES NOT LOOK QUANTUM". Quantum is not an adjective, it is a noun. Nothing can "look quantum". You mean "does not appear quantised." Are you really that illiterate, or are you trying to be condescending to your presumed audience? Maybe you think we talk like that because we are dumb.

  6. @3min30: "and this phenomena is what we call …." Phenomena is the plural of phenomenon. If you don't know how to use fancy words, don't use them. If you are not familiar with the word phenomenon, don't try to make videos about advanced physics.

  7. If your brain is currently short-circuiting after watching this video, come get lost in the existential void with me on Shifted Lens 🧠✨ We’re currently debating whether free will is fake and why 'now' doesn't technically exist. Grab some popcorn, your life is about to feel like a simulation! 🍿🚀

  8. I just wonder why so many YouTube videos that present relative complex and interesting information, have annoying background music and lots of generated videos that have nothing to do with the topic. It is annoying.

  9. Would quantum entanglement support the idea/theory that the universe, and everything in it, is singular in nature? Therefore, if it began at a point of singularity, it will end in the same state. Thus, it would perpetuate itself indefinitely resulting in an infinite number of Big Bangs.

  10. @Chulalds. This is an excellent explanation of quantum entanglement. In Buddhism, there is the concept of rebirth, propounded 2600 years ago, in which, upon a person's death, a thought from his mind emanates and settles in the appropriate womb for another birth; is that due to Quantum Entanglement?

  11. It seems to me that quantum mechanics is using Mahayana Buddhism to interpret particle physics. The consciousness of the observer does not create the properties being measured. There's no shared information. Scientists are wasting tax payer money trying to turn a laboratory into an ashram.

  12. We are being run by other beings at the speed of light much like a ram or a vga speed on a PC and entanglement is possible cause it's just a display of a screen like a part of a system like a mother board and the fact it allows info to travel faster then the speed of light but not allow us to control it makes sense much like u don't want sims on ur PC to control the PC or have their total own opinion and direction… .oh well we're all a simulation even the choices we make are not actually ours, what I'm writing now has already been pre determined or the other being playing me is writing this not me well it's me and not me…I dono….

  13. "There’s—in the back of our mind—the notion, as a root of common sense, that everything in the world is made of something; made of some kind of basic stuff. And physicists through the centuries have, of course, wanted to know what that was.

And physics began as a quest to discover the basic ‘stuff’ out of which the world is made. And with all our advances in physics we’ve never found it. What we have found is not stuff, but form. We have found shapes, we have found structures. Because, when you turn up the microscope, and you look at things where you thought there was some sort of stuff, you find—instead—form, pattern, structure.

You find the shapes of crystals, and you go in beyond the shapes of crystals and you find molecules, and you go in beyond molecules and you find atoms, and you go in beyond atoms and you find electrons and positrons—between which there are vast spaces, and we can’t make up your minds as to these electrons whether they’re waves, or whether they’re particles, and so we call them ‘wavicles’—but they’re very tiny.

And if you want to ask “what stuff are electrons made of,” we might be able to make a further analysis. But what we will come up with will never be stuff, it will always be a pattern—a moving pattern—which can be described and measured.

But we never get to any stuff, for the simple reason that there isn’t any." Alan Watts

  14. It does all feel unintuitive, but think about how many modern concepts would feel the same way to humans just a few centuries ago. An explanation of the inner workings of a laptop or a smartphone would be overwhelming even to the most brilliant scientific minds of their age. And interestingly, most modern people themselves fail to understand everything that goes on inside their devices. It's just there, part of their daily lives. Technological sorcery.
I think the first generation born to widespread quantum computers would have the same attitude towards quantum entanglement. "Is it kinda weird and a bit like magic? Yes, but it's powering a qPad I'm using to watch live footage from the Mars colony, so it's not scary, it's perfectly intuitive"

  15. Has anyone maybe considered that it might be like a mirror upside down so everything perceived automatically is reflected, but on the opposite side?
And since there is a lot of going on maybe, that’s why it’s called in entanglement because everything perceived upside down in a mirror might get entangled

I actually had a dream of an opposite world. Everything wants backwards. It reminded me of that.
